Ok, lets say I have about 25K as my limit. I have about 5k to put down.

My wants: good stock speed, able to mod fairly easily (even if it may be expensive), newer car. Also, I am into 2 door coupe styles, sportier bodies.

Any ideas will be helpful
Also, what I have been looking at are 350z's, 300zx, MR2s, Supras (a little pricey), and similar.

300ZX TT....350Z are pricey and 25K wont get you the package you want:D but youd look baller hehehe...

or get a 98 S14 and turbo it!!!! thats plenty of money to get some good power out of it

The two best deals you can get right now are the WRX and the SRT-4. Either of these would make a great tuner car. I had the same predicament as you a while back and was looking at the same group of cars. I chose the WRX because of its all around greatness. It has great handling, power, there are plenty of aftermarket parts, etc. This would be the car I would recommend for you. I guarantee you will love it...

On the other hand, if you really want a 2-door tuner car that is newer, I would look at an RSX-S. This car is pretty amazing and can get really quick/look really good fairly easily. If you picked up a new one, you'd still have a little money to mess around with. They just look so clean with little work. Throw on a c/f hood, some rims, and some performance stuff and you're good to go. Later on, when you have more money saved up you could turbocharge it, hook it up to some nitrous, anything.

Well, hope this helps...

Find a 93-95 MR2 Turbo. It is not new but a helluva car and very rare.

I agree that the RSX is very nice.

Get a used IS300 and turbo charge it. (4 doors but engine is same as a supras).

The Celica GTS is nice too.

I think the impreza 2.5RS looks better then the WRX. Cheaper too, obviously. And it's 2 door like you said you wanted. It has a bigger engine then WRX so it has more potential as far as adding power goes. And they are NICE cars.

Well, more potential if you mean spending hella more money. Plus, there are no where near as many aftermarket parts for the 2.5 as the normal turbo 2.0. If youre gonna go Subaru, stick to the WRX...

wel if 25 is your limit, then i would definitely rule out the possiblity of a new car...ie 350z, wrx etc...the supra would be a good choice, however, gl on finding a good supra for a good price. not only that you wont have any money left over to mod the car.
the best option i would recommend is going with a mr2. a little old, and hard to find a lower mileaged one, these cars are allround badass. ive seen many fixed up ones, and they do look sweet. spend about 10-13 for a good mr2 turbo, and you'll have plenty left for exterior and gofast mods...just my 2 cents

Ok, you guys have been awesome.

So far my favorites have been
the 300zx (yes I know, expensive to fix :sigh: but they are so nice. If i could save up extra I might consider this)
the MR2 (less of them around than I thought),
the 03 accord (all i can say is 6speed),
the 350z (i know its a bit more expensive, but if i could get the financing it would so be worth it.)
Supra I would love...IF I could find one under 30k that is worth the money.
I'm still looking at the 240's also.
everything else I just don't know about. I'm trying to stay away from what everyone in the area has. I dont like neons, so thats a no no. No WRX, I really want a 2 door. I haven't heard much on the CL yet so I guess I will look at that.

Any body have any other suggestions? or can anyone give me comparisons on any of these cars?

if you are really serious about it.. i know a place in tx that can get you a base 350z for 25000 but of course you have to add another 1500 or so for tax title and other things... but in my opinion there is nothing at that price that compares...

I would rather have the fully loaded. But to get it, I need financing. I don't know of many places that will finance a 20 yr old with less than a years worth of credit. If this place would do it...I am so there in one month:D

-andrew dont forget that the fully loaded model which is the best is the track model for the 350z...which is gonna run you 34,000 or so, includes VLSD, brembos (cheaper when you order them with the package instead of separately at another time and these brakes are strongger than the base model), 18inch aluminum wheels and they are lighter than the base model, aluminum pedals, Xenon headlights (not included in base model) and other goodies. Then add tax/title 1500.00. If you are really serious about getting one, consult with VIC, im sure he can explain to you what needs to be done.:thumb:

Don't forget about luxury tax.. You may get tagged with one.. Many years ago was anything over $35K. I'm not sure about now..

but compared to all of the other cars on the list a base model 350 is way better already... of course you can get the z even better with all of the options but in his price range nothing else compares...

I would sell you my 93 MR2 Turbo (black with 61500 miles), but I love it so much, I would only want to sell it for 20k which is far too much to ask for, but what they hey! I love it.

I have a red MR2 (non-turbo) with 124k miles, just got it painted (original crimson red). The turbo is more fun though.

rx7? miata?

Both 2dr and sporty. A NICE new miata will run you 22k or so, rx7s will run 15-16k? plus maintence which is a killer.

2002 337 GTI.. w/ APR stage 3 turbo. FS in Houston. I think the thing is capable of low 12's at least. He is only asking $25 grand...a steal.

Well, so far I think the 350z is winning me over. Although I was told about the new RX8..so looking into that one also. I don't really like the rx7 and miata that much. Miata just isn't my type of car, and the RX7 body just doesn't quite do it for me, then again, they are pretty fast....Oh, and not really interested in VWs.

Anyone know anything about the RX8?

It has a rotary engine, a back seat, bad-ass styling IMO, lighter than the 350Z and handles just as well as the RX7...if not better....Nice all around sports car.

If you are looking for a Supra under 30 then I can recommend looking on ebay if wouldnt mind that.... I just went on there to see if I could find one and I found one for 22K. That was the Buy it now price so dont have to go through that Bidding crap. Quick over view of the car 76K miles, K&N cold air, performance chip, full exhaust. Just thought I would show that to ya.....
