I drive a 2000 Silverado single cab truck and i'm having some problems with the rearend I believe. I'm not too sure but here's what it's doing.

The problem is that whenever i'm sitting at a light or I stop at a stop sign, whenever I release the brake to go it makes kind of a squeaking sound. It's loud enough to where I can hear it inside the cab and it's been getting louder and louder. My dad has a 99 Sierra Z71 and recently he's been having the same problem with his truck.

I really don't know what it could be, maybe it's something we are simply overlooking, but any insight is appreciated. Thanks. :thumb:

No leaking fluids on either vehicle. It moves the truck a bit whenever it makes the noise but nothing really major.

it might be your e-brake. does youe e-brake hold when you set it?? those year chevy's are bad about having e-brake problems. there should have been a recall on them as well. might wanna call a local dealer and see if there are any recalls out on yours and your dads trucks.
