chime in here. curious as to what mods you guys have and the kinda fuel economy you are getting.

my truck which is a 97 powerstroke single cab 4x4 auto has a OLD OLD OLD superchips power programmer on the 65hp 100ftlbs setting and a K&N drop in filter.

ive been getting around 18-19mpg city highway mixed. a couple weeks ago i was blown away when i got 21.5 driving like a grandma and mainly running down the highway. needless to say i was happy.

my worst tank so far has been 15.8 which was me doggin it a bit and playing around offroad in 4low.

i wanna get a new programmer but i dont wanna shell out the money right now. id rather get a new downpipe cause the stock one is rediculous.

00 f250 7.3L Custom DI 5-way chip (up to 120+ hp), 4" full exhaust, and AFE stage 2 or 3 intake. Never dynoed it so cant tell you the power, but it usually gets anywhere from 18-21mpg, even when driving faster than average.

I would get rid of that K&N if i were you, especially if you ever go anywhere its dusty.

01 4x4 crew cab short bed, 4" exhaust no muffler or cat, aFe stage II intake, DI Injectors, GT 38 Ball Bering Turbo, DI 6 pos. chip ( High Idle, Stock, Daily driver, Tow, Play nice, Don't play nice) SP diesel box.

I get 14 in the city and 23 on the hwy.

Your getting good mileage, The down pipe would help. Call DI (http://www.dieselinnovations.com/di.php), they can get you what you need.

Yea, David and the guys over there are good people.

There is a place over on Ferrel Rd. called Houston Bio diesel (http://www.houstonbiodiesel.com/). Eloy is a good guy. I have used it alto. The up side is it burns cleaner and smells like French Fry's. The bad side is it is most of the time it is more expensive than reg. diesel. Right now its $2.50 a gal. So its about the same as reg. The second is you will not get as good of mileage with it.
If your going to go fill up with it, run 1 or 2 tanks then change your fuel filter. It cleans your system and will send all the crap in to your filter so keep it changed. They are having a home brew class on 4-29.

Just a note: I'm my openion.... I would stay away from Banks. They have good marketing and commercials but are not worth the money. For what you spend on Banks, you could get allot more for your money from DI or one of the other shops out there.

Nope. on reg # 2 diesel, I get 400 mi. a tank. On Bio I only get 340 or so. From what I have been told, Bio does not burn as hot so therefor it uses more fuel to do the same as #2. Don't get me wrong, Its good stuff and I still use it when I can.

we got involved in "dog the bounty hunter" so it didn't happen.

then the CPS went out, so he ordered one off Ebay.

The 7.3's are notorious for throwing a CPS. I keep an extra in my glove box.

cam position sensor

Its a Cam position sensor. The are basically a magnet that has wires on it. They are very unreliable. The stock one might last for yrs but then a new one might only last a few months. The truck will not run with out it. When they go out, they go out. No warning. It is located on the front of the motor under the cam. They are easy to change if you know how. Once you have done it, it will not take you more than about 5 min. to change out for a new one. I keep an extra in my glove box along with a 10mm socket. I have been through 3 of them. They range from about $150 to $225.00 depending on where you get it from.
