Yeah, as the title says. Looking for a beginner bike, Ninja 250/500, etc. I have sense enough to not go for a 'Busa as a first bike. :D

I took MSF already, totally enjoyed it. So that part is taken care of, trying to convince the wife to take it as well and get her interested in motorcycles.

Here's the typical newbie flamebait, is SV650 ok for n00bs? I've seen a lot of 'em for sale, and I love how that bike looks. I know about the 600cc not good for beginner and read the threads, but I also read in some other forums that SV are considered 'grey-area' beginner bikes. I am mainly looking for ninja 250/500 though, just thought I ask about sv as well.

reply or pm, or email me at tshwashere@gmail.com Thanks!:eek3dance

I have a suzuki GS 500 i may sell. It's painted camo green right now. it's a 91 model. The models are exactly the same unchanged from 89-2003 when in 2004 they started to offer a full fairing model. I personally prefer a naked bike myeslf. Mine has quite a few race parts as it used to be a track bike that i converted back into a street bike.

I have multiple rear sprockets some Vortex ones. I have a brand new gold chain for it, It has Vortex clip-ons, goodridge stainless steel brake lines, I have an extra set of wheels and and extra set of tires for it. And it also has a GSXR 750 rear shock with external adjustable dampner.

http://www.moto-station.com/uploads/119_normal.jpg <- this is what the model looks like. If you want a pic of mine I'll take a few but only if you are even interested. Mine has no mirrors currently installed on it.

The only catch is that im now located in florida and not houston anymore. However I would be willing to meet half way or arrange something else if need be.

Im only asking $1500 for it and all the parts it comes with..

Is the bike reliable without extra maintenance? Apart from regular maintenance, etc, is the bike pretty reliable being that it's a 10+ years bike that was a track bike once? Since this is a going to be my first bike, I'd put reliability pretty high up as an requirement... :hs:

Where in FL are you? I used to live in Pensacola, and do travel there from time to time to visit friends & family...

man look here, i am 16 took my motorcycle class and i found it best to start on a bigger bike, cause you will want to go faster, and you will get tired of getting beaten in a race (if you race), i thought the same way you did untill i tried a bigger bike, i have driven my friends GSX-R 750 for ever and loved it so i want to buy a liter bike (1000cc) i am currently looking, the 750 is what i started on and it was good, you just got to be self aware of the throttle responce and get used to it

sorry for cluttering up you thread thought id spred some wisdom
