Slow, somewhat ugly. Much better looking thanthe Solstice though. They need a fast version. Maybe that company will stick an LS2 in one of these too.

if you noticed, they have a 2.4 ecotec in there. i think if anything they would make a supercharged 4 cyl. like the ion redline or the cobalt ss. i think an ls2 would be a bit of an overkill(as bad ass as it would be). one thing i like about it, its rwd :thumb:

I think it's one of the best looking GM vehicles in a long time...other than the Corvette.

They are making a supercharged Solstice, but an LS2 would not be overkill IMHO.

maybe not, but i think the l4 to the v8 would be a change too drastic for GM to support
i mean, 170hp base model or the optional 500 hp performance package(i know the ls2 is less i just dont know what it is exactly)

looks a lot like the vauxhall. I think people will be switching the badges since saturn doesn't exactly evoke coolness.

I believe I read somewhere that GM will be looking to make Saturn more similar and in line with vauxhall products. The Sky is definitely a good step in that direction.
Way better looking than the Solstice IMO.

IMO the best looking car in its division, roadster or watever. Soltisce looks bad, Miata reminds me of "toy dog" mini verision of a real dog. lol. The only other comp, s2000? I know people are gonna flame me on this, s2000 is butt ugly, but compared to the other 'roadster' it WAS the best looking. s2000 is FWD isnt it?
And so no one has to click to see:

just wow...but anyways, i havent done any research or anything but if i remember correctly, the s2000 has 240hp n/a, sky has 260 sc. as for the the s2000 being butt ugly, ppl have opinions, i just strongly disagree. the hp numbers are pretty close, havent read anything on torque. IMO this car won't sell simply bc saturn's past, which is cheaply made cars that feel like they are gonna break when u open the door. The car looks good no doubt, I'd buy one, whether or not I'd keep the saturn badging...Idk...

right, but overall, the look and feel are supposed to be more in line w/ vauxhall.
The sky is already a pretty good step in the jagged edge design of vauxhall cars.

Actually the Sky, like the Solstice, already has a waiting list thats longer than the planned production for its first year. The S2000 is a slow seller simply because it has a much higher price than its supposed competition(miata), and has had very limited publicity.

satrun sky redline will be turbo not sc. Since this isn't a transvere ecotec, gm says there is no room for a superchager? I dunno, its what article said lol.
I don't car about saturn's rep, lol that car is just plan hot, like its been said, more people on list to buy then the number of cars that will be made, insane.
All i have to say is american car sytling and quality is getting ALOT better than in the past, and well lets face it, with the new civic and the new accords and the like, japanese cars are starting to look, very weird.

It's the same platform as the Vauxhall VX220, which is far sexier in my opinion. The VX is a few hundred pounds lighter too, since the Europeans don't have to worry about getting T-boned by F350's or Hummers.

Actually the VX220 uses the Lotus Elise platform, while the Sky/Solstice are based on GM's new Kappa platform, as is the VX Lightning concept you pictured.

My bad. Yep-
VX Lightning == Sky
VX 220 == Elise (or rather VX 220 Turbo > Elise)

Uh no, the only one from GM will be the Saturn Sky Red Line with the Turbocharged Ecotec engine. The Red Line will be debuted at the NYIAS this month.

Then what's this mean
Mallett Cars plans to build a high-performance version of the Saturn SKY, powered by a 400 horsepower GM LS2 V8 engine. Inside Line reports that the SKY conversion will be identical to the Mallett Solstice. The publication says the modified SKY, which will have a base price of $21,995 over and above the price of the factory-built car, will be offered in very limited quantities.
According to Mallett, "the 400hp GM LS2 engine is an awesome addition to this super slick roadster. Mallett Cars has engineered it as a complete package. Extensive track and street testing has been done to assure that this car handles better than stock on either a Sunday drive or on a road course. The cars are complete from front to back using Genuine & Official Licensed Products of GM with the stock OEM catalytic converters in place to assure state emission compliances. Our package retains stock features such as cruise control, ABS brakes and all OBD-II diagnostics."

Mallet already offers a LS2 Solsitce Transplant, and will offer it in the Sky. Mallet is not GM. You can't get this car at any dealer only from Mallet directly, providing them with of course the car and lots of money.
