My dad called me today and told me that they are opening up a racetrack in Liberty County. A 3.0 mile road course track that is only 25 miles north of Houston!!!! How exciting is that! Here is the website. www.libertymotorsportspark.com

I heard about this place, I think I saw a video of a bike running on it.

Maybe that was somewhere else near Houston.

I think there's 3 or 4 tracks near us now, if only I had the money.

Track isn't even built yet. I had a customer the other day who knew quite a bit about it. He said the initial cost is going to be somewhere around $50mil. It is going to take about a yr and a half to finish. Its designed to Formula One racing standards. Now whether they actually host an event like that is a different story. The track does look pretty cool. Only 17 miles from my work...wooot!!!! 20 min drive. We are in for some fun times ahead.

there's also one in Hitchcock too (only like 15 miles away from me! =D)

can't wait till they are done with the construction:rock:

i think thats probably why, possibly so they won't get any complaints from ppl about the noise pollution from racing or something?

I tell you why. CHEAP LAND. If they picked it closer to houston, the price i gave yall could have doubled. Also, it doesn't matter if they make noise. Rednecks love noise. :P

thats extactly why they picked it.. because you cant build it in downtown if you plan to run indy cars... noise is a big factor... thats why HRP is surrounded by nothing(but trailers...) :)

If they did you would think they would put actual pictures of the track on their webpage, not just blueprints.

It's because they are not opened to the public yet and are only opened for people that have memberships. And I have seen photos of the track already, a customer wearing bike gear came into our store and we got to talking about it. He had just came from there and was telling us he needed photographers for the track. Capt.Obvious is my other witness since he was working with me.

Yeah. Unless your ballin you might just want to wait for the open public days. Or if members on houston-imports get enough people together im sure we can rent out the track for a day. That would rock.

If anyone is seriously interested in learning how to drive their cars to the limits, check out Drivers Edge. About $250 for a full weekends worth of track time. http://www.thedriversedge.net ... And unless you are Michael Schumacher, don't tell me you already know how to drive your car well. Go to one of these events and you'll be humbled, and learn a LOT about your car in the process.

This is exactly what I wanted to do like 4 years ago, when I actually had "big plans" on my EK :hsugh: Hmmm...Now you got me thinking about it again...one day one day.

Well then there is some contradicting information. View the webpage and make your own assumptions.

this is the only car related thing worth spending money on. brakes, tires, and entree fees for TDE.

QFMFT.

Even people with slow cars like me can rock the DE. If you know how to drive fast in a slow car you'll be quicker than a slow driver in a fast car.
