well weather and far drives can be restrictions for alot of people.

i know i didnt attend this show, but the houston scene can be big once again if we have alot of participation from the OG crowd and new crowd.

all the old ppl are like man this scene is dying..yah well no shit, you dont contribute anymore. i believe one person does make a difference.

my fav one is,.. NOT BASHING AT ALL.. mazda... our buddy had the ONLY RX7... mazdas consisted of 2 mazda proteges (yellow, and a dark one) and a perfect condition rx7.. this rx7 has hks coilvoers, greddy exhaust, a shit load of goodies, while all i saw ont he progetes was exhaust and tails... :/

They stuck me in a class all by myself & then told me there was enough cars in my class to make it. They also put my buddies Hatchback that i bagged in the Underconstruction Civic Class. We know that, because he asked the guy while he was judging it what class he would be in. Awards came & went & his class wasn't called. He asked what happened & the guys told him that wasn't a class.

The worst award in my book was the tallest truck award. that was just retarded

props to overdrive for driving so far, shows dedication, imo. i remember back at one of the expos it POURED the day of the show and it was pack. yes, i understand thats inside vs outside but the spectators were overflowing. i rememer some people came from dallas/austin just for the show.. in the rain. in cali people drive for hours to show/spectate in shows... and their scene is wayy bigger than ours SHOW wise. theyre no different than us, except they take actions.

some people are doing their part and others sit back and complain about it.
i cant wait until my car is done. i honestly plan on driving to cali for some of the big shows just to be in them until i move out there. and show here in the meantime. id hate to see the scene die out here. the muscle guys are still big, but the import guys are gettin smaller and smaller show wise.

I personally have nothing against you. With that being said, I don't think you can really compare an outdoor event to an indoor event. You really can't even compare California to Texas. California has a much more dense population than Texas. There are many more people here than in Texas.

Of course with an indoor event, people will still come to it because they won't be wet.

If you want to see action being taken, why don't you show? You really can't base the import car scene from one event. Most people were probably scared away because of the rain. This is the first show of the year and more to come. I'm not trying to bash you or anything, I just don't agree with you.

The houston scene IS dying in my opinion. We had the same event last year in Louisiana with half the amount of advertising and it was POURING down rain until 3 pm, yet there were 2 times the amount of people at that event than there were at the Houston show today.

Show was way better than last years. And about the scene dying..its not true. The spirit is, but I know many many people with very nice, show worthy rides, that do not want to show. I would like to thank everyone for comming out and helping support the scene, even though you all knew it was 100% chance of rain. We all came out so we can keep the shows alive. I want to see more and more cars come out and support.

I personally have nothing against you. With that being said, I don't think you can really compare an outdoor event to an indoor event. You really can't even compare California to Texas. California has a much more dense population than Texas. There are many more people here than in Texas.

Of course with an indoor event, people will still come to it because they won't be wet.

If you want to see action being taken, why don't you show? You really can't base the import car scene from one event. Most people were probably scared away because of the rain. This is the first show of the year and more to come. I'm not trying to bash you or anything, I just don't agree with you.

i didnt come show bc my car is literally a shell. but when my car was done i was at EVERY show. even the one at the 1/8 track where about 20 cars showed. i even showed at small shows just to keep the heart beating in the scene. but when im done with the car, youll see me at all the shows/events bc im also building the car for track.

some people just need to step up.
soon enough the whole "scene" will be underground. no more shows/events, just people doing it bc they love it. thats when the real people come out of the woodworks.

you couldnt have said it any better than you did. your first statement had a good point also.but this event wouldnt have been here in houston if it wasnt for LOS and houston-imports doing there thing. duggy just so you know,we are lucky that we have 2 shows this year. there arent any shows hitting houston for 2006. :bawling: hot import nights will be in dallas in october,so the houston scene will be on the road to dallas.i know overdrive will be there

Euro is the way to go. Out of 177 cars at least 40 of them where euro tuned. Thats 22% yet where are the pics? Anyways....

I dont know about you all but the same thing is happening in the Euro scene. We are trying to boots up the scene, but what it takes is a select few that CREATE CARSHOW specificlly for houston. IF you want to show people that the scene is not dead then make a show. Hell I could get the EAG guys to rep a H-I Carshow if it was made. It takes time and commitment to make things work.

nah dude the suby is literally a rolling shell. lol. thats why i didnt make it to the fender rolling thing sat, couldnt get it running right. i wanted to go but was sick. i layed in bed all day. subys get a lot of love. i love the houston suby scene, just sucks show wise =(
