The B15 Sentra was already called the 'Mini-Max' by some. It's definitely the case with this new one. It even looks like the Maxima this time, and both seem to have a similar roofline to the Saturn Ion. I don't know the size of this thing, but it ought to be bigger than the B15. The Sentra is supposed to be moving upscale a bit.
A smaller model called the Versa(aka the Tiida and Tiida Latio in JDM land) is supposed to slot in under the Sentra(starts around $12k), and will be available this summer. You can already build one on Nissan's site. The Versa will have a 130hp, 1.8L called the HR18DE(I think), so hopefully the Sentra will get a nice boost in power.

Unfortunately, there's a good chance the Sentra will be getting the MR20DE, which is tuned for fuel efficiency and not having a care in the world about hp. The Renault / Nissan collaboration engine is rated at ... 140hp.

Well, there's still a chance our version could have a bit more power. Even if it doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised to see the MR20DE as a base engine(it'll still have more torque than the HR18DE), and the 175hp QR25DE as an option.

With Renault pushing for a truly global market, I think the QR25 will not make an appearance in the 07 Sentras. Since the Frontier is mostly a North American market vehicle, I can see the QR still being put into it for a short while afterwards. I cannot see an MR20 pushing a 3000+ lb pickup truck.
I'm excited about Nissan's performance prospects, but their economy / subcompact market is disappointing.

I went through 3 of those fucking engines. All of them completely stock and all paid for by nissan.
