yup yup so true. just like the nissan 240. about 3 to 4 yrs ago. no one really knew what the 240sx was all about. and that its a good drift car. and as you can see. now that its popular everyone wanted one. now slabs are the thing now. and the prices on used buicks , caddys, and oldsmoblie have jumped up 2 times the price . but to me its just a phase . it will prolly last another yr or so. before the import scene will be back on top.

honestly, i would have to say that 90% of the people on this site couldn't handle the 'classic scene.' I'm not even sure if we're talking about the same 'classic scene' on account of that is a horrible descriptor. 'Scene' sort of implies something new, changing, and hip. Classic automobile restoration, collection, and racing is more of a constant and respectable interest. But if we are, then yes. Those sorts of people are some of the best, brightest, and most interesting car people you can talk to.

90% of the pics posted in this thread would not be in the 'classic scene.'

Unfortunately this show was better than any import car show i've been to in the last 3 years.

there were loads of cars and entertainment. so many hip-hop artists were in the building performing.

that's something that these import shows need to realize is that the fans want to get the most from their money. i believe they definitely got it with this show.

i bet you go around and asked the people that had attended this show and most of them will tell you it was a good show. When an import show comes to houston. all you hear or read about online is "oh this show sucked" "could of been better" etcetc...

i have love for all kind of cars/trucks. from what ive seen the import thing is going down hill. Hope someone does something to make it like what it was 4-5 years ago.

Every one of their shows is worth the money. I started attending different type of shows, and to be honest with you, nothing else topped these type of shows. i think the reason for this is that ppl in the import scene is a buncha ppl that jumped on the JDM bandwagon so all they do is put shit on their cars that another car already has. there's no originality in that. 9 outta 10 civics are gonna look the same cuz "jdm is kool, jdm is great." on the other hand, the lowrider scene is full of guys that constantly try to outdue themselves with art and creativity. so the attention to detail is so much greater. and by lookin at alot of these cars' paint jobs u can pretty much call it a piece of art work.
ppl just need to be more open minded and actually learn how to be original.

i also have to add, some of these guys put more work into there cars more then any other style of cars (imports, domestic, trucks) besides a few...this was my 1st low rider show i had ever been to and i plan on going back next year

and to add to what din said about attendnce- normally for an import show they use maybe 1 or 2 parts of the arena at Reliant, this show took up the entire place! when we got there we had to park against the fence next to kirby it was so packed, and during the concert i prob was able to get 50 yards or so close to the stage it was packed

Unfortunately this show was better than any import car show i've been to in the last 3 years.

there were loads of cars and entertainment. so many hip-hop artists were in the building performing.

that's something that these import shows need to realize is that the fans want to get the most from their money. i believe they definitely got it with this show.

they do, as long as you have LOTS of pressure in the tire. but yeah, some tires will blow causing the rim to bend. but like i said, in any "sport" or "scene", price=quality.
