I'm new, things I dont like about this forum

Ok, so I'm new here. I really shouldn't be complaining, but here I go anyways.
1st - I don't like the fact that I can't edit my message after 5 minutes. I'm sure they have a logical reason why, I just wish I could edit whenever I realize I made a mistake or need to. :p
2nd - Why can't I do a search using 3 letters? ex: CRX, NSX, TSX, etc. etc.??
ok, thats it. Other then that, I like how this forum brings Houston car enthusiasts together!! :thumb:

As for the search function, I've wondered about that myself....But I don't really use it that much.

Yeah the 5 minute rule is pretty damned lame, talking to an admin to correct a minor mistake is gay, and I don't want to have to repost saying "er i fux up and i correct now" type thing...

What is the logic behind that anyways??

Phast, thanks for the welcome. I'm usually on the NSX Prime forum, but it's slow there sometimes. And then I'm always bored here at work, so I'll be on these boards from now on!! :D

The reason for the 5 minute rule was people were posting for sale parts that were found to be stolen and then went back editing their post, leaving no indication that they were selling stolen parts. The 5 minute rule has helped in that issue.

In terms of the search function, the limit is 3 letters as to not return frivalous results (ie..searching for the word "the" or "an" "a" "I" "and", etc...) This reduces the number of words the query has to search for, in turn resulting in quicker searches with less strain on the server.

If the word you are searching for is only 2 letters, like SR... add the star to the end so it's like SR* and the search will go through.
