Well I was just wondering when looking for a paint shop to repaint my car another color....what brands of paint are good to go with?? Like if they say they use PPG paint or Dupont paint... stuff like that.... AND...when shaving the moldings off... which way is best to do it with...Ive heard of different ways to shave the moldings off which way lasts longer and doesnt crack after a while....and also can most body shops fix front bumpers to fit right on the car.... my bumper has like a gap under the headlights where it dont fit right, can they fix it to make it fit more snug??? thanks....

instead of telling you who to refer to... i'll answer your questions.
yes.. front bumpers can be fixed assuming it's fiberglass. Urethane if fixable.. but because urethane and fiberglass had different hardness factor.. it will not bond correctly over a long period of time. To fix that gap you were talking about.. you can use fiberglass cloth, resin, hardner to fix it.. takes a little time and patience... but it will fix it.
Molding wise.. it is Highly recommened that a piece of metal is welded in place of the "slot". Following that procedure.. dyna-glass should be applied before bondo. Final touches should be sanded to make a seamless surface.
Paint wise.. I use Dupont. PPG is good too. They're all as good as long as you go with a well known brand. It's not the paint that sucks.. it's the prep work that people miss before painting. If you prep it good.. and paint it good.. it'll show through.

your front bumper sticking out the way it does at the fenders will have to be molded to fit correctly, always always use metal when you shave and it will last, I like PPG but House of Kolor is just baller, if you want custom get House of Kolor if you want factory get PPG. Most paint booths use ppg its whats on your mirros lol, its just easier to blend with ppg in my opinion which is why most Paint shops use it. good luck:thumb:

LoL The reason my bumper was looking all ghetto that day was because my bolt fell out.....heh.... so it was sorta just danglin' there heheh.... but when it is bolted up right it fits alright....;)

i use all ppg products not sure about the other brands but i know ppg is good.
I got House of Kolor paint on my ride, Premier clear etc etc..... And what showspeed said thats how you do it right. I sanded and preped my car for paint and if you want it done right every little detail has to be done correctly or you will have a fuked up paint job. Make sure the body shop has a good paint booth and up to date paint guns and stuff. Also when changing the color of a car, everything must be taken out that will normally cost extra. My freind owns a body shop (same place where i got my ride done) if you are instrested.

Whats the difference between the different brands of paint? Like: House of Kolor/ PPG/ Dupont ??? Or is there a difference at all??
House of Kolor is what most people use when they get Kandy paint. They also make perals and glow in the dark paint. House of Kolor is just big baller of all paints.
