Just wondering if anyone had some past experiences with either and pros and cons. Will a sprung hold more power or is it just sprung for a different driving style? Any help would be helpful.
I got this from another website

A sprung hub (right) helps absorb shocks that occur when the clutch is engaged ... A Marcel is the thin, wavy piece of metal between the two facings. It compresses when the clutch is engaged to avoid chatter. Clutch chatter can be caused by a multitude of things, but if the Marcel is not present or is worn, the disc will almost always cause chatter.
Sprung hub disks don't determine holding power. That's up to the disk's surface(s) and the pressure plate pressure.

If its going into a beamer then you should know that some of the bmw clutches are designed without springs and instead have some wierd dual mass flywheel. What kinda car is this for?

You mean the E-34 M5? I have seen them use those clutches on the E-46 M3's when they put aftermarket flywheels on. Even the newer M5 & Z8 have dual mass crap.
BTW I would def. go for sprung. I know people that have used unsprug clutches and messed up there tranny's from it.

Im not really up into the E46's but I know the E36 guys buy the light weight flywheels and the m5 clutches to hold some power. I hear they are pretty nice but be ready for some chatter.

if its street driven i would use a sprung clutch. not to mention the statement above about messing up tranny's with unsprung is true. basicly unsprung clutches are like a light switch either on or off. there is no sliding the clutch it just grabs the sec you let out on it. so they really suck for street driving especialy if you hit traffic. i can show you pics if i can find them of my bro's gsr tranny after it was destroyed by an unsprung clutch that he was street driving.
unsprung will also put more stress on the bearings (main/rod)
