B16 tranny Reverse problems

When I put it in reverse it doesnt go backwards unless I put it in reverse and hold it in with my hand with pressure...sometimes it goes backwards and all of a sudden it makes this grinding noise and stops going backwards...its annoying to hold it in reverse. Even though sometimes it looses grip and grinds.

any help?

oh yea...its a 00 hydro tranny and im using a shift linkage/shifter from a 92 integra. I also have new shift linkage bushings. Poly urethane ones. The play in the shifter going left and right is very stiff.
Is the Da shift linkage/shifter ok to use on a eg with ls/vtec swap?
