auto to manual conversion parts list: (recommend find this yourself @ local junk yards to save some money, especially if u buy everything from them)
manual awd tranny of course 95 awd model up ($600 if u lucky)
flywheel ($30) resurface (add $30)
aftermarket clutch if u plan to mod the car later ($400)
shift linkage from 95 up ($40)
clutch/brake pedal assembly (manual), gas pedal ($50)
clutch master cylinder + hard line to slave cylinder ($30)
slave cylinder (recommend new) ($25)
top awd manual trans mount + bracket. ($50)
manual axles ($120 rebuilt pair)
manual ecu (TURBO AWD ONLY, MAKE SURE) ($150)
I think the transfer case is the same manual/auto
find a competent shop that can do the trans swap, drop steering columm to install the pedals, mount the clutch master cyl., run the hard line along the firewall, bleed the clutch, install the manual ecu, and most important of all,
BYPASS AUTO SHIFT LOCK SWITCH SINCE U CAN ONLY TAKE KEY OUT OF IGNITION IN PARK OR NEUTRAL ONLY WITH AUTO TRANNY, but now u have a manual tranny.
that's all I can think of for now

Wow, great write-up. This should be stickied...
But I dont think 2.5 thousand dollars is worth a manual unless your AT is already seriously screwed. :eh:

you don't need to drop the steering column to do this.. The link below your post has the full line of parts with part #'s Don't try the hard line for the clutch line, just get a S/S braided line made for the whole line and it will make your life a lot easier.

Im sure it mostly depends on the car you're trying to do the conversion for. This is still a nice outline though for what's needed. Obviously youd want to take it to a shop for a more precise measurement of what's needed (unless youre doing it yourself).

$2500 + about a thousand $'s labor. It will be cheaper if you can find a good deal on a tranny and parts. We specialize in dsm's. I think I can say this since im answering a question. But since no one else is stepping up i guess I will.

Yes, the parts would come down a lot if you could find a cheap used tranny, and use a stock flywheel, there is a lot of fat we can trim off the parts list.

It's not what this guy wants. A manual is still better, even though you could upgrade the torque converter on the auto.

you have a talon right...go to a junkyard and find a 96 eclipse and get that tranny...if manual and if it would fit...cuz idk sheet about talons...it might be like honda and acura...

Except he is dealing with an AWD so any old trans wont work in this case.

man that sucks...well i dont want to get a freakin muffler and have it sound all shity u know? thats the main reason. what would make it sound better? i tried manual shifting in my del sol and that made the tranny go out in like 4 months lol. gimme some ideas of what to do with my automatic??
