Let me ask u guys this, why would a place give u the "hook up" if they have never seen u before?

They are trying to run a business, look up the prices online and compare it with that. IF u don't like what the place quoted, go somewhere else and don't complain.

I dont believe that he said anything about getting a hook up. he justed asked for a shop that will give him an honest price.

he's right. All I want is an honest price that I can work with thats on paper so I know it's good.....not something like "Oh this white guy just walked in and doesn't know anything about imports....lets rip him off acouple hundred. He wont know"

Like I said, go on the internet and look up the price, then compare it with that of a shop.

And also like I said again, shops won't give u good prices on things if u just shop around, stick with a place. Its called loyalty.

true dat... out of everything ive done to my cars i never bought anything in town... everything came from Cali or other state... online or magazines! thats where THEY all get it from anyways... cut out the middle man. once you get a good price from one guy and later down the road you need something else call him again and he will hook you up with another, better, price.

i don't see why people buy parts at car shops when they can order them online for a cheaper price themselves... think about it, when you go to a shop and you need/want a part... usually they don't have it so they order the part on the phone or online... if you think they will sell you the item for the same price they get it for, hahhahha... you pay more and you still have to wait... oh and they have the price laid out for you in most cases... ever wonder why car shops are getting shut down.... there is your reason folks...

The reason to buy in town is because of quicker responce if and when the part stops functioning. It's easier to take it to a shop close by than it is to wait through some emails about who you need to send the parts back to and if they are paying for shipping or not for the part getting back to them.

Thumbs up to dealing with people face to face. Online pricing is great, but when you have a problem, then your generally helpless.

There are several distributors here in the Houston area, so many parts for your popular applications should be same day availability.

Not only that, some places have the privliage to be a seller of a certain brand. Ex. Hyper sells Injen intakes and they are the only shop that can get them in town, sure the other places say they can get it for u. But in reality, they get it from Hyper. Y? Because Hyper is the only place in town who can get it directly from Injen.

This because most shop doesn't want to quote you, the consumer, the retail price of the certain product..Most products do have a retail pricing..we try to match or beat most prices on the market..as some prices change we try to lower our prices..for example Altezza taillights..everyone has them so we try to lower the price as much as possible...Yes I do get my products from California, but directly from the manufacturer, not from some online company or from the magazines..sometimes its hard to carry parts because there are so many different models of cars...As in loyality to the shops, many of our repeat customers do get an added discounts to their items they want...We will treat you the same way whether you are green, yellow, white , or black...Since you are on my side of town, please stop by so we talk about this subject...Andy

i agree with andy on this buisness comment.

and most of you that say we order our shit from MAGAZINES! are fucken retarded. since when does a magazine give you better prices than the direct manufactuer. Some of you need to go to school of buisness and learn buisness math.

Magazines are good for the individual, but if you have a shop like Hyper that is the Main distrubutor for most Big Brands of performance parts in Houston, you can expect a cheaper price.

I run a buisness...and yes I did call you retarded. The prices that magazines give comapred to how a Local Wholesaler gives you cannot compare. I think you need to head back to the Buisness school that you came from because you didnt seem to learn anything there about cost and retail. Obviously if you went there you'd know that the avg markup percentage on retail is ALOT higher for a buisness that doesnt buy in bulk. But you prolly walk into a shop buying one thing and ask for wholesale price and get pissed cause you didnt get the Hook up.

Oh but im the dumb ass that runs a shop and doesnt know what Im talking about. What field are you in dude? And that whole "watch what you say and who you direct it to" e-thug aittutude, whats that all about obviously you dont know who is who now a days.

In either case if you got offended by my retard comment, oh well, sorry if you did, but its the truth. Going to school for buisness and running a buisness are 2 totally different things.

Its not advertiseing for them. I was useing Hyper as an example since I go there myself. But its the truth how it works in any business. I could have used Carboy in my example and it would have still been the same comment. Why do u think people get low prices buying from Group Buy, people are buying in large quanity. U sir, need to take a course in Econ. 2331 and 2332.
