when i shift into my 2nd gear at high rpm's it grinds really bad and wont goin unless i slow down..i know its the synchro. so does gm synchromesh really work, or should i jus get a new transmission,if so i have a b16a, would a b18c1 make my engine stronger? or should i rebuild the b16 transmission..lmk thanks.

naw if you got a short shifter take that bitch out or your gonna need a new gear box and if that dont work then rebuild it or take it to "bottom line" they no what to do
that got a acord wagon up there with a h22 in that bitch with 2.5 pipeing

b16 has shorter gears than the b18c1 trans

syncromesh is really bad stuff. Stay away! Become better at shifting and your gears wont go out like that. You probably are going to need to rebuild your tranny/buy another. My transmission grinds every gear. I like it like that.

syncromesh may make it better temporarily, but for most transmissions, its not recommended as it will take its toll after a while. but if you're going to have to rebuild/replace your tranny anyway, i'd go ahead and use it for now. try double clutching, it shouldn't grind if you do it right.
