i own a (see SN) and it has a automatic transmission. i was wondering if there were any electrical gurus that know how to deal with the transmission's electrical components.
PROBLEM:
In the heat season my D4 light blinks and car does not turn-on.when this happens my car experiences startup trouble. it cranks but does not ignite. what i usually do is what it out til the D4 light stops blinking. and Voala(SP?) the car starts like normal. i have no idea what is causing the problem. can anyone help me..?? this is the only problem that i experience with my car.

u should check the codes stored in the trans ecu or the pgm ecu- not sure if they were two different control units that year or not. 1 for trans and 1 for engine- it sounds like a TW sensor problem though. would def pull codes first however.

to do that is it necessary to have the check engine light on? i have heard that without the engine light lit there are no codes to be read? do you have anyone who knows how to deal with this. i would do it myself but i dont want to F*** anything up. if its as easy as 123 Plz enlighten me... :)

under the right side of the dash (far right) is a 2 pin connector- insert paperclip there. watch the amount of blinks on the dash. get haynes, helms, or whatever to know what the codes mean.

well i have taken a look at my car manual and it says that the blinking D4 light means there is something wrong with the tranny,... i have a strong feeling that it more electrical than mechanical.

Pull the codes damn it, it'll tell you what is acting up so you can pinpoint the problem, buying solenoids and such is expensive and waste of time and money. Plus it could jsut be a connection issue.
