Ok. I know this was dumb, and i was planning on blowing something or breaking something. (So i can use that excuse to buy another motor that my wife wont let me. :( )
So i planned to race the heck out of it that night. So my brother said his 555R have the best grip at 17PSI, when heated up. So i tryed it and raced him. I launched at 4k and just sheer grip. So later that night me and brother and about 5 or 6 other cars (friends) we out to find some races. Within' that time we all race each other and whatever cars we can find. So i was launching at 4k and upping it to like 4200, or 4400 so on so i can find the best possible launch.
Towards the end, i was like fuck it, i jumped to 5100, drop the clutch and big jerk and then free revs of the motor. No movement, but lots of jingleing and grinding.
Anyways, to make things short. I think i broke my CV joint or fucked up the tranny. Should i buy stock aftermarket (autozone) CV joint, OEM CV joint from honda, aftermarket CV joints that hold more(500hp). Or should i just bring the launch back down to 4k.
Cliff notes: Dont launch at 5k with 555R with 17psi. Help me pick a CV joint for the best application.

Ouch! That sucks dude. I know how that feels cause I broke an axle with 555Rs. I down shifted hard to third b/c some dumb bitch in an expedition cut me off and I was pissed. At the light I took off like normal but didnt even let the clutch out all the way in first and it snapped.
Unless you are on a budget Id get the autozone axle for the time being until you can get better ones. You dont want to know how much honda/acura wants for ONE of theirs. For their price you can get those high hp axles.

it's also possible you broke your differential.

Well that night it broke, we jacked it up and the cv joint would move alot. Also when i had it up on the jacks and the wheels at a stand. We let out the clutch and only the passenger side would spin, not the drivers.

unless its a lsd tranny only one is going ot unless stopped then the other will spin until you let the wheel you are holding go.
listen to mike, check the diff.

Just a pretty much stock CRX Si, nothing swapped out. Second tranny cuz the first one gears wouldnt go in. This is the second one, it's been great, no problems.

You needed drag radials on a stock crx si.....hmmm... But ya i would most likley think it was just a axel and would go get some from votozone....

The hmmm was why are you racing around in a stock car that makes no damn torque and using drag radials... But hell iv done the same thing so who am i to judge no i dont wanna race you.... You are on the nw im in the se big waste of gas for the both of us...

Well when my car weights 1,800 and makes about 100 lb of torque i dont need much of it. Ofcourse it would help. When i start losing is when i'll start to think about the swap. Or just go grab the SS and put the drags on that.

have you done anything else to determine exactly what is broken?

I launched at the track at 7000 rpms with slicks using stock axles. No problems, preload your axles at the line to prevent the axle from aggressivly snapping. Its not the car weight that snaps it, its when theres that little bit of play in the axle that kills it.

That make absolute sense. How do u mean preload the axles?...like let off the clutch a little enough to feel a slight pull at the line with the e-brake holding u still in the same spot?

you got it, i drag the clutch a little at the line so that the axle is pressed against the inside of the axle hub while pulling the e brake. Then i launch, you hear no clanking, or snapping.
