i just got my set-up all done, i installed a fmu and missing link on my motor for right know. well i was test driving it and it takes awhile for it to get from 4500k-5k then it hesitates and it doesnt want to go past that and it back fires just alittle. from 1k to 4k it drives normal. i was wondering if it had something to do with the gap on the spark plug? right know i have them set at .44, and i retarted the distributor all the way. please help

that's your motor telling you that it's running like total shit, and if you push it anymore you will blow it up. get a good setup, then try to boost on it. not the other way around.

i just put my distributor back to the stock location and replaced my map sensor. now i could go into vtec but it starts to backfire like a mofo. sould i advance the timming on the distributor some more? or should i regap my spark plugs? right know i have them set at .44 i dont know if your suppose to have a lower gap?

.42 is oem gap for honda plugs,, go to .41 for low boost apps... also, a missing link and fmu ARE NOT engine management, you need something like Hondata, a hacked sfc/vafc, or at the very leats one of those ghetto uderdata chips.. i dont know what you're car is..but if its honda..then stock ecu will cut off at 5-7 psi or 5500 rpms.. depending on injector duty.
also ,the wrong fmu could caus eyou to run a little rich..which would also cause bogging.
and a missing link only bleeds off excess pressure to protect map sensor..did you make sure to put the screen into that when you installed it,,
