the lightning has always impressed me, stock Supercharger on a V8 but there is a problem, they don't hook up til late and the weight, 5575, wtf. c'mon, i am sure there is something that could be done about that. i believe if they redid the gears and the rear suspension and put some more weight on the rear axle, that the truck could easily be a mid-low stock 13.

yeah, we ran against a lightning weeks ago..got owned....but ofcourse it is a V8 truck...vs my lil 4cyl....but those trucks are nice

i own a 2002 Lightning and i have done a lot to it...i have put a 6lb pully on the supercharger...i got full JDM exhaust which added 80 hp...i put MAC cold air kit...a single blade throttle body..electric fan kit...line mod valve...3.73 gears and a torque converter and i run low 11's....i would recommend a lightning to anyone who can afford one.

wrX-RATED & ( o )( o ): I think he was stating that the six pound pulley and exhaust gave him 80 hp.

I like the Lightning, if I had to get a truck it would definately be in the top 3 to pick one. All though the new Harley Davidson F-150 super crew has more torque and HP for a little more money and it sounds like a Harley...:blue:

Actually there is a performance shop that uses the initials JDM and they do mostly Lightnings or Fords.....Forget what the JDM stands for though.

Alright you fkn noob. If you're responding to someone, use the Quote option, it makes it a lot easier to follow the convo. Second of all, I don't give a shit about what you and a bunch of your redneck friends say about some exhaust. The exhaust you have, full or not, WILL NOT add 80 hp to your truck. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dogging on Lightnings, I actually looked at them for a while...

O.K. I take back what I said. Didn't know about the shops initials... I could see a pulley kit alone giving alot more HP but 80 HP? What else do you have besides :
Cold Air intake : 5-7 HP
Full Exhaust including Headers : 10-15 at most...
Pulley kit would have to pull 58 or more HP. Must be nice though to have that kind of money...

Im pretty incline to beleive him, I have known of JDM for a few years now, in fact Im almost positive they have been around longer than this stupid fad that we import lover dub "cool" And while 80hp to the wheels from a na, small displacement motor that is already very very effecient may sound outrageous.....a FULL exuast system on a truck that is 4 times the size of many of our motors with a blower sittin on top,, and that is prolly a real restrictive exaust because of emissions....im sure it would be a real close call......If you did get the 80hp from the exaust, good job man.

Import tuning didn't start with the release of 'The Fast and the Furious.' It's been around for a lot longer than that. And if it's a "stupid fad" to you, then why bother following it and pretending to be something you're not?

80 hp, which is apparently to the wheels now instead of the crank, from an exhaust system on a street-legal setup is crazy. Unless he has the dyno papers or some other way to prove that it's true, then he can stfu.

Sorry if I sound like a dickhead, I just hate BS...

lightnings....a very fast TRUCK.

this is a CAR club.

cars do things that trucks cant...like turn

and stop fast.

but im glad you like your little drag strip wonder.

but a fast truck takes most of the fun out of owning a powerful vehicle...no highway runs...no top speed sprints down the highway.

but yes they are very easy to make fast...wtf else do you expect from an 8cylinder with forced induction?

all in all id still rather own a camaro SS or corvette for the same price if i was shopping for a v8 musclecar style ride.

faster....and with a power adder will make the lightning look like a childs toy. when you stack em together...bow ties are better.
even the ford muscle magazines have admitted this.

Do you normally go out and run at CCB with Halo? There are only a few trucks out there that run 11's, so I am pretty sure I could figure out who you are if you do go out there. As for the 80hp, I can believe that with the pulley and the exhaust. It isn't hard to make those trucks fast. However, they don't last long once modified (and I have heard this from many of my Halo friends). I was told that many of the guys have to bring their trucks back on a regular basis to have their motor replaced. I run out at CCB almost every month. Maybe I will see you out there next month so I can check out your truck! :D

BTW- How much are you sprayin to run 11.4's?

And ZERO Im a Chevy/Import fan , and MOST Fords wont get my time of day. BUT, the Lightning is one of the exceptions, The truck isnt for everyone, This Truck is for someone who wants to have something they can tow with, haul things, and still have that extra "UMPH" when they hit the gas.....For your info, the Truck DOES handle well for a truck, not as good as a SPORTSCAR, but very well.

Now that said, for all who want to, get back to the real subject here.

All motor huh? Well of course I have to call BS now considering the fastest Lightning is high 10's and he sprays the piss out of the truck along with many other mods. Also, I know that Paul G. is one of the fastest in the Halo group and everyone that has even come close to the 11's spray (even with the pulley and exhuast). I have been a domestic person since day one. I will be out at Sealy for the next CCB. Come out and I will run you! We can even put some money on it if you are that confident.
