View Full Version : help not boosting
just installed greddy kit on my civic, here's what happend..
installed fmu,
connected everything correctly, checked many many times
test drive:
1st gear took off kinda slow idle came up real high when i pushed in the clutch to about 2.5-3k... so i let it settle..
took off again 1st had nice power second was good too, slowed down took a left turn, took off in 1st nice power went to 2nd and at about 3-4k it hestitated
and then after it stopped it had no power at all, almost felt worse than driving stock
went home checked everything, everything looked fine, went for another try, same thing 1st nice power 2nd nice power till 3-4k then same hestation and same power loss,
im running greddy 15g kit, with FMU
( i always had a problem with idle, tps sensor code always comes up even with new part, map sensor also..)

if you are ahvign Map and TPS codes you need to fix those. The car WONT make power with those sensors not working.

if your idle is coming up really high, and takes a while to settle, check your vacuum lines also.

do u have a missing link if not it will do that. once the ecu reads boost it will run like shit
i replaced the tps sensor, map sensor and the whoel throttlebody but it still throwing the code

wrd missing link will own you if you dont have one, hondas arent supposed to be boosted so if your ecu does see any boost it will indeed run like shit. did you buy the full kit? it should have come with one, if not get one quick. since your throwing a code still and you replaced everything im about 80% sure you need a missing link ive seen one in the for sale section look for it

did you reset the ecu after replacing all those parts?
i just put in a new ecu, p28.... my idle problem stopped, and it pulls normal now but i had a question, i tested the upgrades against my friends stock dx ( with I/E) and i only pulled 3 cars from 1st gear roll and 1 car from a 40... but im kinda like... :wtf: suggestions..? greddy kit has internal wastegate so w/o boost controller i cant do shit right..? is it supposed to be this slow?

how much are you boosting? get some engine managment and youll pull harder garanteed 95% of people will say FMUs suck in which they do, pay to get your ECU chipped and pay for some dyno time to get it tuned so you dont blow it up and ull be happy with the results.... try buying a manual boost controller but if your on stock ecu with just a FMU i wouldnt recomend boosting no more than 6 psi

u going to need that missing link, the blue box that came with the greddy kit, or engine management (ie, hondata, aem, etc..). If u choose to go with the missing link and the fmu, then u'll need an inline booster fuel pump to keep up with the pressure that the fmu generates. Set your timing @ 12 deg BTDC, and a set of colder plugs (NGK, bcpr7es). If u going to use the blue box, then u'll have to get rid of the fmu and install a 255lph intank pump, same timing and plugs. If u choose engine management, then u'll need the 255lph intank pump, bigger injectors. I'd go with the last choice

cliff notes: If huy @ inline racing tells you all of this then you need to take it over there.
