I have am having a few probs with my civic, first off we removed mt Cat a while back and ever since then my check engine light has been on. I figured it was because of the sensor but i am not sure. And also we recently advanced my timing, and now i am idleing at 1000 -12000 rpm. I have adjusted the idle but it doesnt seem to help, and since then i have also noticed a small squeak around 3000 rpm in every gear. I am wondering if i should set the timing back to normal or what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

your check engine light is because of the o2 sensor. i think they make 02 simulators that you can try to get rid of the check engine light.

i'm not sure who would have these in stock but i'm sure you could order one from the many shops in TX. at any rate here is a website with the info

as far as your timing goes, when i had my Si, i had the timing advanced all the way and had no problems with idle. you could try messing with the idle screw. you might wanna adjust it with the IACV disconnected.

SpeedFetish can set you up with an 02 Simulator to eliminate your check engine light, if that is the case which is causing your light. They did for me and haven't had any problems for the many months I've been running one.

its better from tightening the cable not busting out the cat...

you should see exactly what caused the check engine light to come on. I have used a gutted cat on an OBD2 car with no problems, still running the car with an OBD2 ECU and the secondary O2.

If you are from Nederland I probably know you.

mike, i know him i'm the one that advanced his timing. i knew from the beginning that it was a bad 02 sensor because the way he busted out the cat with the o2 still in it.
