View Full Version : COMPRESSION TEST RESULTS.... WHAT OTHER TESTS NEEDED TO CONFIDENTLY UP THE SHOTS ???

Just did a compression test on the 2000 GSR..

Results:
1: 240
2: 240
3: 240
4: 230

Machanic says its a healthy motor and you want the cylenders not to differ.. +/- 20 psi... so i guess its a healthy motor ..Is the higher the COMPRESSION/PSI Gauged the better? w/ all internal stock components...

MODS
CLUTCH, FPR, I/H/E -CAT, NGK Plugs.
OTHER MODS FOR TRACTION, Tires ETC HAS BEEN TAKEN CARED OF...

SO WITH THIS KNOWN... IS IT SAFE TO UP THE SHOTS FROM A 50 TO 75 W/O NEEDING TO WORRY ABOUT ENGINE WEAR... PISTION.. RINGS... ETC... IF ENGINE IS HEALTHY...

WHAT OTHER TESTS WOULD NEED TO BE PREFORMED TO BE SURE... LEAK DONW TEST... ETC....

hahahhaa....the last test you need to run is the MOD/ADMIN test. If you dont see a ban percentage of 100, then you are ok.

If you cant login tomorrow.... whoops... you failed.

with an attitude like that, not many will want to help you for free. You should turn your caps lock off.

no gay shit tolerated. posting with caps lock on all the time and having an attitude about it=gay shit

btw, make sure you get colder plugs and back the ignition off some before spraying on your motor.

If you use a push button nitrous or wide open throttle switch, be sure not to spray into your redline. The RPM's will increase rapidly while spraying on your setup. I'd recommend some sort of RPM switch to disable the nitrous at some RPM before the ECU's fuel cut (redline)

make sure you use the right jetting for a 75 shot at your fuel pressure. what size jets are you using?

Yea, your motor looks to be fine. Ive been running 75 shot on my 98 GSR and have had no problem. Key is you're fuel system and colder plugs. anything 75 or above you should retard timing. Check with KK if you're not sure how to do this. Also NOS has a plate kit thats specialy designed for GSR's that really nice... Good Luck

I pull back the timing a lil bit even on a 75 shot on a GSR motor.

FOXCONN4 should be happy he got a straight answer the way he posted his question, especially after getting an attitude with everyone. Most would just not help him after looking at the way he posts.

i would have banned them a long time ago if i wanted to ban.

Regardless of how dumb a post is, I still want them to be able to learn how to properly set up a nitrous setup in order to not blow up their motors.


let's go back over what everyone said:

sparkplugs 2 steps colder
back off some timing
make sure your fuel pump is working well
proper jetting
be really to only spray at WOT and never spray into the rev limiter.
make sure you have a good clutch
