u dont need bigger Injectors if u use a fmu

If you go with bigger injectors, you can go with a lower ratio FMU, you won't need to jack the pressure up that high.

a manifold would be nice.

yeah you forgot mani umm unless he just gonna have the turbo just sitting there as decoration

also he will need a new turbo exhaust setup, and a stronger clutch

LOL how can I forget about the turbo manifold?!! Hahaha.... I was thinking use a little bigger injector, so I don't have to pump up the fuel pressure like dak4.7 said...
Open down pipe sounds better than any exhaust...

With that said, I dunno the flow rates on injectors that is common on turbo imports, or how much pressure they can take, but a 12:1 FMU ratio seems kinda high, but maybe it's the norm for you guys

normally it depends on how much psi u are going use. for his set up he would need at least 550cc injectors but with a ems. if u run a 12:1 fmu u are able to run the stock injectors with no problems. i know it seems high but its safe and u also dont have to pay extra for aftermarket injectors

I got some dsm 450cc (blue top?) injectors, so if the he decide to go w. Neptune or hondata, he can use those for a while... But he's only looking for 280ish whp, fmu will be fine...

Yeah, but there comes a point where the fuel pressure you're putting behind injectors can cause injector failure too. That's why it's my personal preference to go slightly bigger in injector and slightly smaller on FMU ratio, the less pressure the better IMO :)

If you already have the injectors then what's another $300 for a tuned EMS over a fucking FMU? I just don't understand why people are so anxious that they'd risk blowing up thier shit and doing it right all over again when they could've just spent a few extra bucks and done it right the first time. a couple hundred bucks is chump change unless he has a B18C tree in his backyard.

the stock injectors will not fail. theres been alot of ppl that have been running a fmu for years. my friend has been running his for over 3 years know and he has had no problems. theres propably a couple of ppl on the board that run the fmu. and they can also say they had no problem with it.

basically the fmu will be safe on the motor though 6-8 psi of boost with no problems. over that then your looking into blowing the fucker up.

W. 6-8psi he should be happy... I know hondata w. Boost options/Emanagement...(etc) will work way better, but he's only lookin to spend some where around 1000bucks...

With 6-8 PSI he's not gonna be getting anywhere near 280WHP.

If he doesn' have the money to turbo the car right then he probably doesn't have the money to replace shortblocks either.

I've been running a 12:1 vortech fmu for 4.5 years on 12-15 lbs of boost now and still haven't had any prblems from injector except they leak down a little......
b16a2 on 12psi make 285hp 200lb. ft.

8psi on a GSR w/ JDM ITR cams/Valve springs/retainers/P&P intake mani and Good tuning, his gsr is gonna hit close to 270-280whps

he's not goin to make 280 with 8lbs unless you have a large turbo and an aggressive tune.

if I were you start reading more on the fuel management. Gsr going to waste is going to suck man. I would research more. Alot of free ware out there you just have to read. -Nick

I know, that's why I posted this thread, I want to see what's everyone's opions/ideas... I just barely start gethering parts now, will take me more than 2months to get everything together... So I still have time to learn about GSR and fuel systems...

Well thats about as wrong as they come, turbo civic with stock exhaust (not dumped) running like 9psi is doing just fine, yeah he aint getting all the power he can but that shit is still stomping SRT4s but im the sleeping kind so i like it

why dose every one want to turbo a stock (internal) GSR? the high compression aint all that good for turbo when you can use a LS and run more PSI. JUST wondering and also you pay a lot more for the GSR swap than a regular LS ok

LAst time I checked, GS-R's came with *gasp* GS-R engines!! besides the extra rev ceiling and tha fact that the head flows a ton more than a stock LS head the compression issue becomes a little less important

Umm.. What are you going to tune?? The FMU? Neptune is 650 installed dynoed and tuned. A new GSR engine is around $2000. You think your buddy struggling now.. wait till his car is on jackstands and he cant get to work to make money to fix it.
We did a stock JDM GSR with a T3T4 57 trim on Hondata and it made over 300 @ 10psi and is completely safe and is daily driven and makes regular trips to DFW area. It also still gets great fuel economy.

make sure you use T-bolt clamps and not shitty screw hose clamps
