Spring ratio

yeah, this may be a stupid question but i wanted to know how the scale of spring ratios is set up. Lower/higher number, stiffer suspension/softer suspension, and what is the stiffest/softest springs you've seen?

higher the the lb/in the stiffer the springs are, lower the lb/in softer the springs are, i dont' know what you mean in term of scales though. usually it's writting something like 390lb/in which is what people would maybe consider a medium spring? i'm a lil fuzzy on where everythings placed 300's is kinda on the semi-soft side i've seen springs in the low 100'slb/in be4 and some as high as 800+lb/in be4 but i'm sure there's higher i just never looked very hard for harder springs seeing as i'm not a track addict or nething. hope that helped a lil......other folks correct me if i'm wrong/missing something

yeah i was looking at some RS*Rs and those have a 168 spring ratio while the Tein S-techs have like 208 or something like that. i just heard that the rsr were alot stiffer than the s-techs so, yeah, now im really confused.

s.techs are a progressive rate spring. meaning they get stiffer as they compress. the 208 is the stiffest they get, which is probably while almost all the coils are touching each other. they are normally much softer. the rs*r springs are some of the stiffest available for the s13 if i remember correctly. i think i remember you saying you had an s13 in a different thread.
