those cars are all nice, if you are into that type of style. i am sure that those cars rack up a lot points at car shows, but it seems to me that all ,with an exception of maybe two, seem to have too many "good ideas". the cars look like they have been slapped on and look jumbled. :dunno:

i believe team ikon has been around for 9-10 years. being around that long...teams tend to lose memebers :( . people grow up, have kids, yaddi yaddi yadda. team ikon is one of the most respected teams in Houston, along with many others like iMotion, TKR, FMRS :kekegay: ...the list goes on.
from what i see the newer group that they have are doing just fine and increasing their "show quality" at a rapid rate. so props to iKON and every other crew representing "H-TOWN" :thumb:

would you like a cookie? and like posted above our crew has been around for 10 years now and members ahve come and gone as with cars. and you have to take into consideration the age....as for the NSX and a few other cars they are owned by older members who have been in the game longer then the others, so obivously they will have more invested into the cars. as for the younger members in the crew they havent had there cars as long as others and some are in school and such and paying for other things besides just the cars. and you stated that "I guess i was just spoiled hanging around JadeCrew and TeamECI in FL" so you just saw then and had nothing to do with there crew? being in a crew and making big things happens takes time and alot of work other then just being a spectator who comes and takes low-quality pix of cars and low-quality stupid remarks as you did

and you cant just single out our crew for houston bc there are other big crews such as TKR and imotion who have started from nothing and built amazing cars so you have to start somewhere

This just shows These crews im talking about obviously have more dedication for being in the game longer

And just because My car isn't in their group doesn't mean i never had any role with their crew. Motor work and finding parts does play a role especially when things are trying to get done at the last minute.

So far with Ikon all i see is exterior work with bodykit and nothing done to the motor not even much for show.
Thats cool if Ikon is letting people in that are just starting to make their car a show masterpiece. But damn thats like letting any one be a part of the team that has basic ADRWheels, exhaust and 2 twelves in a box. I think Ikon just needs to have higher standards thats all.

maybe you should come out to a show to look at our cars a lil closer since you think we only have body kits.....for example im gonna use charlies car as an example....started with a plain old NSX...was painted candy apple red with wheels and other stuff.....then goes widebody with some hre's and an insane system...but here is a few pix of his car with a few 12s in a box

latest winnings..saturday took home best crew rep and 1000 in bomex parts which adds to the other 4k in parts we won from Bomex last year for best crew at a few shows(cant remember the name of the shows off the top of my head)

sponsorships? a few of our cars have full sponsorships and just added a full sponsorship for my 4wheeler..hehe but to add i am in progress of sponoship with Dunlop, NGK, Pepsi, Meguairs, Blankplut(sp?), and many others..

Exactly… you also have to take into consideration that some old school members start new projects that can’t be fully modded in one day because they have other thing to pay for such as school, houses, and mad bills that we didn’t have when we were 16...
Does that mean we should kick them out because they don’t have one of the top show cars in Houston?… what kind of team loyalty towards members is that?…
Does that mean we should pick up every cocky, conflict causing, punk kid off of the street with a clean ride?… we all have a good filtering system to keep people like that out of our crews and that’s what makes these crews last for as long as they have. (I’m not specking for everyone… Just my 2 cents)

id also like to add...to make it clear....that we dont go around recruiting people off the streets.....just because you have a clean car dont mean dookie....it usually starts with being a friend of the team...i for one...started when i was 14...my much older cousin was good friends with the team....way back in like 98.....then it went to NST and etc.....i grew up with the impression that this crew was bad ass...so i started to hang with them more often...when i finally had my car....it was nothing....my first accord was just dropped on some POS springs and JUST A FRONT LIP and a AMP JUST FOR MY HIGHS.....i got into the crew.. on terms of my cousin and being good friends with danny and etc.

my accord went from no paint job, just drop and front lip.....to a Complete H22 swap(Ported Head, TYPE S CAMS, NITROUS, ETC) , Gunmetal Paint Job, Custom System, S2k Interior, JDM headlights, full suspension, and the list goes on.... won many awards for 1st place accord.... but i started showing the car, from when i had NOTHING, just to represent for the crew EVEN THOUGH I KNEW I HAD NO CHANCE!

That also helped motivate me to build my car to be even BETTER....after about a year...i got it to where i wanted it........ with the help of my TEAM.....So maybe team ikon hasn't gotten up to PAR with YOUR standards...but IMO our crew has come a long way....still STICKING TOGETHER as FRIENDS and TEAMMATES....

i still see some of the old school guys come out to Bar B Ques and what nots.... having a team isn't just about SHOWING AND WINNING... its about having fun with our common interests..... and yes, your constructive critism helps....lets us know what people think.....i respect that.

maybe people dont look up to us just because we win car shows, but maybe its because we have been around for so long and we KEEP GOING STRONG and we stick together as friends , we keep people out there interested in the houston CAR scene.....we give other teams motivation to do better....to come out and BEAT US.....because i know we look up to iMotion and Tkr all the time...they are OUR motivation to WORK harder as a team....and do better....and to BEAT THEM.

o btw...a bunch of us have sponsorships....i personally have about 3? or 4? Bodyshops, Exhaust shops, Tire shops, etc. :thumb: and Body kit, drop and rims? are you blind? Lets not talk about the NSX...erveyone knows about it...how about danny's car? And yes Part of being a Good Team is having good relationships/Friendships with all members, And sometimes thats more important to have a good time than actually winning an event. It all depends on the group of people thats all.

My friends in Orlando went from Basic cars to nice group of rides that all have Volks/racingHarts/Rayswheels, Custom sound systems, Turbocharged and Nitrous cromed out motors, custom painted Vehicles that then got sponsored, things payed for, Trips payed for, 6 cars in Magazines, 1 car in SEMA, and being picked as Background cars for the gay yet Famous 2F2F movie. Everyone starts from somewhere and builds up.

werd you do, at most we are working on team sponsorships and our website. maybe if you were actually in Team iKon and was around for the past 9 years you would know why we are not on the same level as your friends.....please do not compare us to your friends and their crews they are not us and we are not them....the world revolves around people differently....yes some of the cars in Team iKon could use somemore mods and what not, but if some of the guys don't have the financial backing then they don't we just encourage everyone to have fun, enjoy and promote the scene together. Team iKon is more along the lines of a large family.....we all help each other when problems occur and help boost each other as well. In a sense i feel as if you were bashing us more than giving us constructive opinions....but that is just my opinion. My friend wanted to try something different out since he started up a stereo and diamond plate lil Co. on the side. So he got some business from taking a few cars up to Nopi Nationals in Atlanta GA. It was obvious to others that my car isn't a show car.
But thats ok. My 14year old car still has good original paint and runs mid 13's without having any motor work done only 2 bolt ons.

I parked with Nitto before and didn’t get to compete because they paid my way in. Also our crew had a team sponsorship from Dunlop in 2004, NCCA didn’t give us a team award because they thought Dunlop paid for us… we cleared it up but it doesn’t matter because we didn’t get the recognition at the show… all we got was a 10 inch tall trophy and no cash…

Back in the day before iMotion was even around… (You know, back when cars repped on the street instead of talking shit online) we looked up to the 2 biggest ,most know, crews in Houston TKR and Ikon.. I still look up to them to this day, give them props for still reppin’ strong, and privileged to compete along side of them at the shows.
Keep up the good work… lets bring back the Westhimer meets like it was back in 99... LOL… memories..

Honestly ,I know for a fact my s2k can't win but I still show for my crew and help out at shows why bc that's my team those are my friends

Like mike said most of us is in school or work so we can't drop big mac stacks on our cars take my case I have a fat car note and high insurance bc I'm still young so I can't drop all of my paycheck on my s2k and I won't bc I wanna pay the car off first bc that would make me feel so much better and then its game time I will get hardtop , new rims and whatnot

Also about the website we don't want a website everybodys know who we are we been setting the way
