i assume that i'm running around 12.5 in a 1/4 mile. how many seconds or tens of a second will the 75 shot take off my 1/4 time?

depends entirely on traction. and what makes you think you're running a 12.5?? that's pretty damn hard to do in an NA honda on street tires.

i've already race a stang that ran a 13.1 on slicks. we both raced on regular street tires and got him by 4-5 cars so i'm just assuming that i'm running that. i just want to know how much it will take of my time

alot of cars respond different on the street and on the track. for sure you could hit 12's on a 75 shot. I know people who got semi-built b20 vtec pushing 200 -210 to the wheels running high 12's on slicks in eg''s. When your time gets lower traction is a motherfuker. Ive seen my homeboy in is h22 crx and 50 shot run 13 flat spinnin the wheels like a bitch.
Just all depends.

lol you cant go off of that kinda shit. He runs a 13.0 and I just beat him so I run a 12.5... Go to HRP and you will have a reality check. :thumb:

a 75 shot will take a second or a second and a half off your eta time with good traction :thumb:

too bad he's wrong. a 100 shot won't even give you a full second off, once again traction.

a 15.9 to a 14.4 takes a LOT less power than going from a supposed 12.5 to an 11.0. if the power it took was linear, then you could throw a 75 shot on top fuel dragsters and they'd run a 2.8

so if i was running a 20 and i throw a 75 shot i would run a 16?

i believe what he is tryin to say is that it is much easier and different to go from a 16. to low 15 high 14, then to go from 13.5 to mid 12's. When your running 15's traction really isnt an issue.
It's just like bench pressin. Its easy to go from 150 to 200 pounds. But to go from 250 to 300 or 300 to 350 is a big difference.
I hope that kind of makes sense.

yea i get what your saying. with lower 1/4 times. u have to have a bigger shot to get that second off the 1/4 mile time right?

the faster you go, the more power you need. while times decrease linearly, the power required to drop that same amount of time grows exponentially.
