blue oil smoke is often interpreted as white also, so it could be blown rings. but yes, definitely get a compression and leakdown test performed. but most likely the motor's going to have to come apart. sorry to break the bad news.

I had the same problem, it was smoking white or blue, but anyways i changed my radiator and it stoped smoking. Weird shit.

What have you done engine wise when this started?

sounds like head gasket time. Did you check the radiator to see if there was any discoloration? compresion check is your friend. But also check the radiator and tell us what you find.

Check your oil for any white milky subtances , and check your radiator for oil in the coolant.
Does the smoke have a smell ? If your burning coolant you should be able to smell it. Sounds like a blown headgasket.
Keep us updated as to what you find.

when my car started blowing white/blue smoke at oil, the seals on the turbo were blown.
When I had that prob, all I had to do was change out the PCV valve and everything was beuno.

it has to be thje turbo due to me running 20 psi when racing _allstar.

you do realize that running that high of boost on an SR, untuned, on pump gas, is enough to blow the motor right? get a compression and leakdown test.
im thinking its the oil seals on the turbo.
wrd on the leakdown/comp test, just to be sure.

I dont know his mods but if he is on the stock mafs that much boost is not even possible. He would have maxed it out before then. I also dont know what turbo your on but a T25 isnt going to hold anything over 15lbs. Not to mention the injectors would be at 110% duty cycle at 16 or so lbs.
O and i'd put 10 bucks on it being the turbo seals going out, it will continue to get worse until it smokes 100% of the time.

time to get your turbo rebuilt. do it asap. i waited on my and eventually the seals completely went out and then the shaft messed up the center cartridge. i had to purchase a brand new catridge which is essentially buying a brand new turbo.

well i wasnt even sure if it was 20 psi because we found out after pulling the motor the damn turbo was loose. hand tightened on. i dont want to discuss this, and noi didnt run 20psi all the time. and yes i have stock MAF and the car smokes when i satrt it and idling, then when i hit the gas it just pours out white smoke. so its the turbo. looking into an s15 one right now...

sounds kind of wierd but check your oil return line. I dont know too much about SR's but I know on my d-series we just used a regular rubber hose for the oil return and it kinked making all the return oil blow by the seals in the turbo. Might be worth checking it out. Cheap and easy fix.
