from the two choices, I will pick the tein ss, since you can adjust the damper rate, plus it more comfy ride. But I will go with Tanabe Sustec Pro, it can also adjust the damper rate, and it is a little stiffer rate than tein ss. It handles better, and great for track. ( i have it on my CL-S and I love it ) But my friend Joe, he has the tein ss on TL-S, and it is really comfortable, cant even feel it was drop.

N1 has an aluminum body, as opposed to the SS steel body. It's lighter

N1 is anodized, the SS is painted green. It's a better finish.

N1 was originaly designed to handle circuit use, the SS is made for the North American "Super Street" audience.

N1's damper length can be adjusted without changing the compression of the springs, the SS cannot. Better ride, recommended way of lowering your car.

love that last fact a lot but SS kit has a really nice convience factor with option EDFC and i went to the Apexi USA site n didn't see an accord listed in the APPLication area nor the EG area (oh well not like the EK won't fit an EG) i'm planning on on gettin the SS kit with Pillowball but i'll have to wait on the pillow ball till later but N1 sounds like a really sound system and more for the hardcore track goer in terms of the fact that you can revalve it to suit any condition you encounter

oh and with the SS kit you can request a different spring rates +- i think 180lbs/in in the front and +180 - 60 in the rear but i may be wrong on the 180 part but it's in the mid-high 100s that i do kno just in case you want a lil stiffer spring rate

hm...i thought only tein and tanabe can adjust the damper rate, others cant :dunno:

lol i just realized that there's no n1 coilover available for accords, only the ws which you can't adjust damper rate. I dont know why people refer to the ws coilovers as the more expensive n1 model.

the n1 is like $1000 more than the ss... rofl

tanabe sustec pro vs tein ss would have been more comparable.

Do the Tein SS's have a harsh ride? How does it compare with stock?

depends on the car.

also when raising the dampening does it compensate for a softer spring? also when choosing a spring is it good to get a stiff spring, then adjust dampening for desired ride quality but can still achieve good performance?

mine is 16 way adjustable. i set it at 8. rides like stock. maybe better. you can make it stiff or bouncy. up to you. 875 for the tein ss

yea increasing the dampening someones compensates for a softer spring but if the springs too soft it kinda defeats the purpose.

on the same token if you get a spring that's too stiff you can't compensate for the rough ride because instead of there being a acceptable amount of compression/rebound with the springs you're limited by the high spring rate on range of motion so the ride stays rough even if the shock is set to soft :(

in other words the springs work against the shock when the spring rates too high which isn't ideal for daily use but nice on a smooth track :thumb:

i wouldn't even try to track that car, you'll be dissappointed. just ask moleman all the suspension crap he has, and how it compared to my bone stock type r.

werd.. moleman has front strut bar, front & rear swaybars, tein ss coilovers... it handles well for an accord.. but its not gonna do well on the track

The Tein SS's are awesome. My roommate (Knives) has had them on his H22 EK hatch for like 3 years, and has had zero problems. I've got them on my EG, and they ride AWESOME. Wouldn't trade them for anything....well, maybe the Fightex's...but you get the idea.

but isnt apexi is a bit better as in able to track than teins? well its me spending apexi 1200 or tein 800, lol watever comes first lol

why do you think the apexi ws is better than the tein ss?

ws doesnt have damper adjustability while the teins do.

koni yellows with some ground control coilovers with the correct spring rate will do the job just as well.

+1 for koni yellows w/ GC's

i would go with TEIN FLEX but they dont make it for the Accords, but out of TEIN SS and APEXI N1 Damper, i would go with APEXI N1.

Apex'i N1 has more of an adjustable damper, and they go a whole lot lower than TEIN SS, Tanabe Sustec Pro is another choice of mines, but make sure you get the damper with the helper spring it rides a whole lot better, Tananbe Sustecpro for your accord is only 1180 shipped with pillowmounts :thumb:

random question...
i know the difference between the tein basics and the tein ss is that the ss has the adjustable damper.

im plannin to get some coilovers. but i want to know whats best for my daily driver. i have the tein s-tech springs that i havent put on yet because im want to get some shocks to.

my car is just a daily driver, not for track use or anything. i just want my car to be lower because it looks like a 4x4 with its stock height.

sorry for the lifetime story. but which suspension should i invest in? i want something that'll give me a good drop and a smooth ride
