LS for sure! You cant go wrong with LS, because you can turbo charge it or build an all motor LS/VTEC combo. :blue:

If you decide to go with a turbo sohc.. I got a bunch of cool parts that I can hook you up with that will make that lil sucker scream.. And all your buddies with swaps will hate you.

I have a T3 ball bearing turbo, modified Starion IC, Tial wastgate, rev hard cast manifold, Hondata S100b or AEM EMS, 440cc injectors, Tial BOV, custom mandrel bent TIG welded piping, all the goods to make about 250whp on a SOHC motor.

Rahim (96cxt) used to eat up lots of cars with his sohc turbo with a t28 and stock internals. It was tuned though.. He was beating C5 corvettes the new M3 and a handful of others on the street...
good luck with whatever motor you choose

The stock SOHC motor's bottom end is good up to about 210 whp with proper tunning and the stock LS bottom ends are good for abou 250 whp. So it all depends on how much you wanna spend on the motor. For the amount of money you'll spend on a motor swap you have a SOHC motor built with stronger rods, pistons, sleeves, and high speed balanced. With this built SOHC motor you should be good for 350 whp (if tuned properly) which is more then enought for a street car. But the same thing goes with a built LS which is good for 400 to 450 whp depending on the turbo size and tuning.
Good luck with the what ever you decide.
