I HAVE A D16 Z6 WITH CAM, CAM GEAR, VALVE SPRINGS, LIGHTWEIGHT FLYWHEEL, COLD AIR INTAKE, INTAKE MANIFOLD, HEADER, CHIPPED P28

NOW THE QUESTION IS SHOULD I GO TURBO OR NOT THIS IS MY DAILY DRIVER I WANT TO BUT DO THEY REALLY HAVE AS MANY PROBLEMS AS MY FREINDS ARE TELLING ME ???? SOME ONE HELP

IF I GO TURBO IT WILL BE A 14B I THINK THATS LIKE A OE TALON OR GST

id look for a cheap supercharger, much more daily driver friendly than turbo IMO.

If you have the money for a turbo, I would sell all the parts you have on your current motor and buy a better motor for the turbo.IMHO

dont listen to him a turboed d can run good numbers at the track
reasonably i would say no because its ur daily driver and there will be lots of down time and if somthing blows there will be even more but it rreally is ur choice
u can build a reasonable homemade kit for a coupel hundred bux and u can get uberdata done almost anywhere and burn a couple roms for daily and for track

turbo is bad ass. but costly. depends how much power you want. turbo is a tease. once you get on it. u want more power.

that is very true. i have a t3/t4 setup and its nice. no problems. drive just like stock but gas milage sucks so if this is ur daily driver i would recommend just keeping it stock or get another car. EMS is very important so that u dont have problems. if you have ne questions pm me.

Make sure you get the right fuel management. You'll need to spend more money on the injectors, ECU, and tuning than you will on the actual turbo kit (assuming you piece together a turbo kit from used parts)

yeah depending on your goals going turbo might be more satisfactory than doing a motor swap, or going all motor, the good thing about D series engines is that they have been around forever and are almost all interchangeable.

just do it right and for that engine i would recomend a 16g or a 18g turbo setup, rev hard makes pretty decent manifolds, and u can get a pretty cheap FMU even tho most people are against it if you are boosting like 6-8 psi you shouldnt have anyprob just remember to retard ur timing half a degree for every PSI of boost you use... but it shouldnt cost too much to do a decent turbo setup on your D series :thumb:

but for a fuel manigment setup i would go with bigger injectors, SAFC, and a FPR

I'd go with some bigger injectors (like some 440's) and a chipped ECU (with someone tuning the car on the dyno to get the right chip programmed for the car's specific setup)

440s are kinda big but good injector size non the less, i was thinkin somethin along the lines of some 350cc DSM injectors i dunno if they are compatable with a D series though... chipping the ECU would prob be cheaper

i dont think its worth it.....i seen s single cam turbo get beat by a ls with intake, header, and exhuast before...

haha well ive seen guns 7th gen turbo civic's dyno sheet and he made like 250 hp but that was in a D17 with a diff turbo setup, but this guy doesnt sound like he wants to do a motor swap so i think he should do it,itll be faster than any normall civic :thumb:

IMO - your average kid can't affford a turbo set up and have it tuned.. I'd say sell your mods.. and use that money to buy a better motor.. stick to a N/A B16A or something and then save up for a turbo kit on that. :)

They can't afford a turbo setup and have it tuned, but they can buy a bigger motor, and have it turbocharged?

turbos are not expensive. n/a setup is the most expensive i believe.
I would go turbo, run the car with 6psi 8psi the most on stock internals. DOnt be a psi freak and boost high on stock internals. Safe up for stronger rods and low compression pistons.
Read about it online more. Daily Driven=turbo. Track car= n/a +juice

No he can use the money he was gonna use to turbo his little motor... sell his motor and mods put the two together and roll ona swap for a while.... soon as he can save up for a turbo set up.. put it on the swap.. The swap should hold him off power wise for a bit... itd be better off to turbo the swapped motor eventually.

yes turbo cars can be as expensive at n/a setups. what do you drive?? you can run a stock turbo ls with like 12lbs if you tune it no problem. all the parts and labor is more then you think.
