Carlton http://www.carltonstaffing.com/ (Who I went through to get the job I have now, has also provided jobs for Jason and Aaron)

Primary http://www.primaryservices.com/ (the first agency I went through (Worked a job at Reliant Energy for a while), they are located in the Galleria area

Corbett staffing http://www.corbettstaff.com/ (another company I have never personally delt with but have heard good things-- apparently pretty high paying jobs)

River Oaks Staffing http://www.riveroaksstaffing.com/ (another company I haven't delt with and I am not sure who hires through them. IMO it's in River Oaks, you may as well atleast look into it.

IT Staffing http://www.it-staffing.com/ (I know nothing about this company but I thought Tya might be able to look into it.

There are plenty other temp agencies and recruiters on these websites http://www.houstonbusiness.com/categories/career/staffing.htm and http://www.411houstonjobs.com/employment.htm . The professions listed go anywhere from admin assitants to high tech and IT jobs, there are also dental and nursing agencies listed, I don't know if that fits anyone.

I hope this helps some of you. I know a lot of you might not want to work for a temp agnecy, but you get to a point where something is better than nothing and due to hiring freezes in a lot of companies, they are only bringing people on through agencies.

Good luck to everyone!

For northside people, there is also Star Staffers.
Pros staff really sucks in my opinion. They dont have any jobs open for anyone right now and are actually laying off more than they are hiring. If you are IT, they do have a sister company, I forget what it is called, but you can ask Pro Staff about them, they hire only for IT.

No--- I think Prostaff is dallas and Houston and a couple others do austin... It'd be best for you search temp agencies in your area, however.

I need something on the west side. I went with Houston City staffing near the galleria and the ONE job they did offer was really far from me.

I need a place that finds jobs near dairy ashford and westheimer

it's amazing how many people don't know about temp agencies ... did that when i was student @ UH ... the best job i had was a copy clerk ... i didn't do squat & i made good money (for a student) ... did pretty good working full-time over the summer.

i did medical billing too while in college... butt easy job & good pay ...

check the greensheet & employment sections of the newspaper ... plenty of clerical type jobs ... again, ez & decent pay
