what makes clutches chatter/shudder?

i got a new clutch on my wrx and it does this.

is this just what organic clutches do?

or is this a problem mechanically?

i have heard both. :(

Aftermarket clutches tend to have this problem. I've heard that really good quality clutches don't do this as much.

ya i hear if you improperly break one in, the disc or the flywheel can glaze and you get that for a prolonged period. but i hear thats pretty normal for new clutches.

i took off in my car lightly once...chatter is permanently gone.
