Problem began.. resting foot on clutch the pedal would slowly drop to floor. clutch would work if only for on/off.

Asked around: everyone said.. "ahh its your slave cylinder" or "yea, its your master cylinder."

Bought the parts: I dont plan on keeping this engine forever so i went to autozone and picked up a clutch, slave cylinder, & master cylinder for real cheap.

Install: looking at the clutch i thought i could do it myself but i've never done one before. I was hoping my problem is the clutch master or slave. so i installed the master and slave.

Current Problem: the clutch gained a little pressure but is VERY weak. I have since gone through 2 bottles of DOT3 w/ not much improvement.

I've been working on this the passed 3 days. I talked to several shops and 1 even said "your problem was cause i bought autozone parts and he wouldnt even use their brake fluid." and then told me it would be 80$ just to bleed it. i tell him its not hard to bleed a clutch line and he says well how come your calling me then. I'm so frustrated. :bawling:

Also if someone wants to help this weekend install the clutch i've bought and resolve my problem i'll buy beer and i'll pay you 50$ for your help. Prefferably someone who has done it before.

I'll assume you bleed it several times. The last time you bleed it was there air in it?

I didnt see anymore air in it.
This morning I switched the slave back to the original one, in hopes to see a difference.
No difference in the clutch stiffness..

yea, on a 91' 240.. the one in my sig.

check your lines.. they make that shit out of rubber, as they deteriorate, they expand and dont hold adequate pressure, i had the same shit on my civic.. havent replaced my lines yet though..too lazy.

have u even bled the clutch? and maybe it could be just the pressure plate.

If there is no air and the hydraulic system is good, clutch pedal resistance is from the pressure plate. If your changing the clutch disc, you should also do the pressure plate, throwout bearing, and pilot bushing. Resurface the flywheel if needed.

yes bleeding the clutch i went through 2 bottles of dot3.

i got a kit to do the clutch(have not done this yet). kit comes with pressure plate, throwout bearing, and all that good stuff. Its a good idea to always resurface the flywheel when replacing clutch. I just need help w/ the clutch.. mainly someone to instruct and help w/ the heavyness of the tranny.

bypass that junction block that is right beside the slave cylinder..

bascially instead of making it go from the line to the junction block to the slave, make it go from the line directly to the slave.. i did that in my S13 and my friends whenwe had the same problem and it worked fine..
