Hey Alan, have you been following the FreshAlloy thread about the blow-thru MAFS setup? I'd do it (screw the plastic housing) if I wasn't converting over to MAP.
The TiAL BOV looks sexy, but that's about as much advantage it has over rival BOVs.

Yeah but you gotta admit its fucking cool when you pin it up the street and scare the shit out of someone with a super sonic bov, .. i prefer the SSQ one i think it sounds cool, you guys must all have them cos not many boosted cars exist around my area. Most people buy Turbosmart products here cos they are not imported.

people will argue that certain companies springs are higher quality making them more responsive and that the BOV is made of higher quality materials blah blah blah...they all work, they all have their own "flaws" ,which usually aren't big enough to worry about, but some people have their minds set because of something someone told them at some point in time. if the tial was substantialy better than all other's you would see it on almost every car with an aftermarket BOV instead of just a few. it isn't any better than your hks, tons of people use it without trouble and the tial wouldn't do the job any better.

yeah, the tial is a great bov, i'm not denying that! but to say its any better than others isn't true. to me, bov selection is about personal preference. in your case, you decided it was easier than the hks, thats fine. some people have to use certain bov's because of space issues, thats fine too. but they all perform the same job with the same results. unless of course you compare cheapo ebay ones to quality bov's like tial, hks or greddy.

But how in the hell do you get 800 HP out of a B16 or B18 (one of the two) especially with a stock block? I am in no way hating, I love seeing a good, powerful Honda motor as much as the next guy, I have just never heard of a B series making so much power. I would really like to know how this is done.

u guys are a lost cause. the fact that ya'll don't understand the signifigance of being able to run over 35psi, 9k rpm, and making over 800whp, but still only having one blow off valve proves it. try doing that with any other bov and see how that turns out for you.

im pretty sure the turbonetics godzilla, bov can do the same thing.
what does rpm have to do with a bov?nothing
all a bov is designed to do is release air to prevent surge.the only difference is that some have a larger valve so they can release more air between shifts, which u need because more h/p dictates more air volume or pressure.

if i was ever going to be running 35psi, i'd think about a tial. but there are plenty of other wg's that can handle that. i have no interest in having 800hp, i will be happy with around 300. but how many people on this board have 800hp? and of those, who is using a tial? the answer to both questions is not many.

actually of the 5 or so members that have over 600whp and turbo, ALL are using TiAL

I still dont see the big deal here. Most people dont start out with 500hp. They usually have/had a smaller setup that made less power. And it was probably on a "shitty" bov. A BOV is pretty much the cheapest part of the setup and upgrading that later on shouldnt be a big deal. For now my hks works great just like it would on any setup under 400hp.

not to a BOV..it has no clue if the engine is reving to 4k or 13k.all it knows is that there is more pressure in the i/c pipe than over the diaphram,so it opens the valve.

i never said tial was the only way to go, but let me give you this example. there was a 980whp supra that autologic worked on a couple years ago. it had two HKS SSQv's or whatever, and was having problems with compressor surge, boost leaks, and random misfires. they tried moving the bov's...no help. so after much convincing the customer agreed to replace them with one tial. the problems stopped, and the car actually made more power (due to holding boost better at higher rpm(where there is a lot more air flow)). this occurance has happened several times in the big horsepower cars. i've yet to see a tial be out flowed by ANY bov on the market. i've only heard of one being maxed out and that was an a 1300whp car, and even then, it only had one tial bov.
yes, other's work fine for lower hp apps, but if you want maximum power, and maximum reliability, the TiAL is your best bet.
