question about ecu

I did the b16a2 swap in my 97 ex coupe. I already have the jumper harness obd2 to obd1 (not installed now) but now I need the ecu. Can I use the 92-95 p28 ecu or the one only for 96-98 p28? I just hate seeing my check engine light coming on and I wanna fix this. thanks guys

If you use the jumper harness you can use the 92-95 p28, but if you dont you need to run the 96-98 ecu.

the one's I see on ebay say it's for b16a, will it still work for a b16a2? I just don't wanna buy the wrong ecu

the 92-95 civic ex/si ecu is a p28 it is for a d16z6.
there are not other p28 ecus. if you want to run the p28, have it rechipped, or get a p30 which is the 92-95 b16a ecu.

the p28 CAN be used in MANY cars. to make that b16a run RIGHT you will NEED to rechip it. and there is no such thing as a 96-98 p28....

the ones they sell on ebay for like $20-25 are okay to get? Then get it chipped. Or just buy one that is already chipped? One guy told me he can chip it for 65 an hour. The ones on ebay go for about 150-200 chipped. I figured I could get one for 25 on ebay and have someone chip it for 65 an hour and it would be cheaper. My only question is are the ones on ebay for that cheap any good? Someone said you have to buy the ones for about 100 to get them chipped, is this true? Or will the cheap do the same when they are chipped? thanks

will the neptune program allow me to pass the emissions test? Can the Neptune program give you a boost in horsepower without using turbo or boost? (for example- vtech kick on around 4800 rpm until 10000 rpm) How much is it for this program? Can I add other programs with this one (like add the mugen, jdm, etc)? thanks

Neptune is fully programable using a stock ecu, it can be tuned to pass emissions. There are other options too, such as Hondata and Uberdata. You can also just go to a shop and have them burn you a generic program on a epprom with your settings, talk to Cypher, he bought my rom burner.

if you can find a p28 for $25 then you are one lucky mofo, they usually sell at 75-125. if i could find them at 25 each i would buy them every chance i got.

thats the ecu you need, and i dont know the specifics of neptune but if its like other programs such as uberdata then yes u can burn multiple chips and just swap them out, alot of ppl usaully have a race chip and a daily chip and swap them out on the weekends and stuff

thats not even an ecu thats a nonreprogramable chip it wont help you at all

the ecu is a 5x5 box with a hole bunch of chips and shit in it controls everythnig on the car

just look in the for sale section of the forum or make a wtb thread you can get an ecu around 50 bux or so

damn dude just buy a freakin 92-95 P28, take it to someone that chips ecu's, pay the money, plug the sucker in, be happy, then slap urself, then call it a day.
