would they actually help with braking performance or are they a waste of money??? would they stock brake pads wear quicker or would i need new performance brake pads too? because im thinking about replacing the stock rotors on my car with brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors but if theyre a waste of money then fuk it. thnx
they would help with heat fade, but i would rather stick with blank rotors.

they don't help. they don't do anything more than a stock rotor would do, and they have more chances of cracking anyway. stick with stock.

what car is this? i would just keep the stock rotors and upgrade the pads. you could also get some steel braided lines.
hope that helps

i doubt you would see a big difference with them being stock size. im guessing the rotors are still new so id just get some upgraded pads and some steel braided lines.

or do a bigger brake conversion
do you have the power to warrant huge brakes?

get new rotors, greenstuff pads. you'll be happy. maybe SS lines, better brake fluid.
stock braking systems are MORE than enough to stop the car, if taken care of.

naww dude the whole car is stock. i wanna start with the suspension because i drive the car hard and ive wrecked my old car because the brakes failed on me at a low speed so i dont wanna take the chance. ill have to look into better pads i guess and no big brake conversion until i get 17s or 18s on it.

lol. yeah ok, that's why they're used by people who actually race their cars, not everyday retards. but hey, whatever.

axxis ultimate brake pads + SS brake lines will give better braking ability. brake dust is mainly a cosmetic problem. but the more dust means better braking sometimes. look at BMW's, they have aLOT of brake dust. plus u are on 14's, dust wont really matter on ur wheels. look on ebay. axxis ultimates run $105 shipped. brake lines i would get stoptech.com but they are pricey. goodridge is a very good brake line brand also. their lines are called "G-Stop" so search that. ebya has it for around $120 shipped.
slotted rotors are better than xdrilled. slotted keeps the pad clean and debris out. xdrilled is mainly for show and have more of a chance to crack.

Get the green stuff pads some ss brake lines and change out your brake fluid for a fluid with a higher boiling temp.
Get some new rotors from autozone with a lifetime warranty and that way if the green stuff pads chew them up you can get them replaced with new ones. There are enough autozones in houston you could get warrantied rotors for the life of your car without ever having to go to the same autozone twice.
With this setup I'm sure you will have plenty of stopping power.

my cheap but very effective setup on my hatch and my old si. autozone rotors with the 2 year warrenty and axxis ultimate pads. i spent just under a hundred on my hatch. and about 150 for my si(4wheel discs). just use the ebc or ultimates. if your worried about brake dust then your gonna be stuck with stock type pads.

very untrue. they do absolutly nothing but waer(sp) down your pads faster. does anyone even know why rotors where originaly slotted???? its because older brake pads werent anywhere near as good as todays. early race teams found that they had brake problems when the pads heated up and released gas. which was caught in between the rotor and pads. the gas actualy kept the pad from meeting the rotor. the solution was to slot the rotors so that gas could escape and the pad and rotor could stay in contact. todays pads do not have this problem so there is no need for slotted or cross drilled rotors.
they do not even cool the brakes any better then blank rotors.

This is probably the best post in this thread.

i personally think that you don't need any aftermarket rotors at all. seeing as you're cars not putting out any excessive power stock rotors should be more than enough. IF you want better performance then i'd say get better pads. Steel braided brake lines, higher temp brake fluid n call it a day :thumb: but there really isn't a need to get any new rotors unless the current ones are messed up. u usually shouldn't have to change out rotors very often if you keep up with maintainance on the car n what not but maybe that's just me. I just get my brakes checked anually and replace pads if they need replacing which they usually do n whatnot and i've always been happy with the results on the stock rotors.

the slotted oem rotors from stoptech are fantastic. they have specially constructed vanes and are designed to be slotted, so they work extremely well, and cool much better than stock. only downside is they're about 100 bucks a piece for a civic/integra, so they're not cheap. but well worth it.
