I just recently got a turbo kit w/ a Hondata S200. Upon installing the kit i would like to know the problems im going to run into w/ the ecu. i have heard that i am going to have to get a P72 or a P28 chipped for mapping and VTEC mapping and OBD I jumper to OBD II. I have a 99 Si. Basiclly what am i going to hae to do to the ecu so i don't throw any codes....???? thanks

I dont think you should have to do anything. You are getting the Hondata tuned right....? I would think you have to. If its tuned properlly than I dont see how it would throw a code. It should be fine. You might want to call autologic just to be sure though. They will know for sure.

All you need is the OBD1 ecu (p28, p30, p72) which ever you want. Then you need a obd2b to obd1 ecu jumper.... Thats it... The obd1 ecu doenst look for half the stuff that obd2 looks for.. There shouldnt be any problems..

Uhm, Ok...But their website leads me to believe otherwise... http://www.hondata.com/wizard/wiz_civic_99.html
Check that it has you go check wether you are OBDII A or OBDII B
That looks like they want you to plug into your stock ecu... ( I realy don't know but Hondata has forums too, you can check with them for the expert opinion.)

Thats because there are different generations of obd2 on honda's. 96-98 obd2a 99-01 obd2b. The only reason you need to know that is so that you can get the right jumper harness for your cars ECU harness!
I had hondata before. Hondata will NOT work with obd2. Hondata uses a 28 pin eeprom (only found in OBD1 ecu's!) OBD2 uses a 64 pin chip. It absolutely will not work with obd2....

BTW... If you look at that link more closely In the top box where it shows the car year etc... It shows the ecu as OBD1....99-00 civic didnt come with OBD1.....

You have to have a obd2b-obd1 jumper, hondata s200b, VIRGIN p28 would be recommended, if you run a p72 you will throw a code. Make sure when you get a obd1 ecu its virgin and has not been chipped unless for hondata.
