I have a friend in Barbados with a GT4 who is looking to have his turbo rebuilt, so I'm surveying the landscape for a recommended shop. I recall that Performance Techniques has quality problems a couple years ago, and so they fell off my recommended list. Does anyone have any recent experience with them?

What about Majestic Turbo in Waco? any good or bad experience?

Who else can reliably rebuild turbos, to include upgrading of compressor wheels?

Thanks,
Chris

Majestic Turbo

www.majesticturbo.com

Based out of waco. Totally worth going there. They will give you a lil tour, teach you alot about turbos... really just great folks.

If you can, try talking to Kevin. Majestic does ONLY top notch work. Obviously sence I have gotten some work done by them but also if you just pop in randomly, you will see the real craftsmanship that goes into these turbo they build. They are the only place i recommend.

every turbo i've ever had rebuilt by turbochargers.com has crapped out, and they have refused to warranty. i'll never deal with them in any way again.

if you want a stock turbo rebuilt, i'd recommend against it. for the price it will cost to be done right, you're better off buying a new turbo for the same price, if not cheaper. anything made by precision or innovative is excellent.

precision is also an excellent place to get your turbo rebuilt at. along with most of the other peeps who have commented about turbochargers.com i also have had bad service with them.

Stay away from turbochargers.com. You will regret any dealings you have with them.

i think a basic rebuild is right around 300-350 it starts to add up quick if you do upgrades. i upgraded an 18g to a 20g and had the vanes clipped 7.5 degrees and ended up spending about 700 buckaroos. i also had to purchase a new cartridge though.

at any rate yeah 300-350 hopefully nothing is messed up and all you need is the rebuild.
