i'm considering going turbo instead of stroker LS/VTEC..... i ran across ssac(SS Auto Chrome) and vecco turbo kits. what i want to know is...are they any good? i've heard on hondatech alot of bad and very little good about ssac...heard nothing about vecco....

on ssac turbo kits i hear that the manifolds crack, you have to support the manifold and turbo, the turbo is held together w/ some sort of epoxy, etc...

on vecco....really nothing

does anyone have either of the 2 kits? any problems? and w/ ssac if it is just the ex. manif.... i'd just get and equal length exhaust manifold.
thanks ppz

the manifold will crack no matter what you do. Just go with Full Race..

SS Autochrome turbo suck...commonly I hear and read that thier turbo blow seals and leak oil after you drive them couple hundred miles...

I'd go Greddy (for reliability) since you drive alot and its definatley gunna be daily, or read up on turbo info on Honda-tech and piece together your own kit.

id piece together a kit personally. even one for daily driving. turbo kits usually blow...unless theyre full race. haha. and those mani's are stupid expensive

i second that, ull spend less and it will be more dependable, plus u can choose which engine manigment u wana use, and turbo depending on ur HP desiers and budget

Honestly the SS AutoChrome manis do suck, but my freind has one that he never used and he'll let if go dirt cheap, the turbo flange is already braced. I'd probbaly go for a used, GReddy kit in working order for around $1500 depending on HP goals though. If you're shooting for over 300ish WHP you'd be better off putting together your own kit.

250WHP is definately possible with the 18G. 1/4 times is hard to say waaay too many factors, 13's if you don't suck?

The real full race mani goes for about a grand. There a couple knock offs you can get for about $600 though.

i would recommend the greddy kit, very reliable and CARB legal. Greddy kit makes pretty good power and will get you where you need to be

that kit is no where near worth the money. build up a kit yourself.

Greddy kit is fine, but there are a lot of people who think there car is going to be superfast with a greddy kit and get disappointed. The most i have seen a greddy kit make on the dyno on the 7-8lbs you will be boosting is like 210.Sure 250 is attainable, but at higher boost levels that baby turbo is going to run out of steam.

well when i had the greddy on my gsr on 7 psi it was pretty quick ,spools quick. i mean its not the biggest turbo, but it was good enough for me to run 13.6 could have done better if i had better traction.

It was only desgined to go as far as stock internals and compression will allow it. That said, it works very well and is fairly relible. I'd definatly get a bigger DP, and Neptune/Hondata with bigger injectors than the 310's it comes with though.

I would just go with a full race setup, little more expensive but you get what you pay for.

the greddy kit is awesome on the streets, with some basic upgrades it can be alot better. ie hondata instead of the bluebox, bigger dp, and bigger injectors like sry0fcr said. 250whp easy with this kit
