Blah anyone here actually think Auburn should be playing? Theyre good yes, but there's nothing better than two Heisman winners in the same game. I think it's a good matchup. BCS just screwed up all the other Bowl Games but I'm satisfyied with this one. I wouldve liked to see Auburn and Utah instead.

roughly 75% or so people I called through at Gallup hates the BCS system. you're not the only person who feels like that.

Huh? You mean most people agree the BCS is flawed or that it does a good job in picking the two best teams?

I think it does a better job than before at picking the two best teams to play in the Natl Championship. The only thing I dislike is the automatic bowl bids. Pittsburg?? Are you kidding me, what a joke. VTEC (:kekegay:) shouldn't be there either, I think Cal should be in that spot (ofcourse that seems wrong now seeing out TT pwned them). I think they should just reserve the BCS games for the top 8 seeds, and non of that "automatic" bid or whatever. IMO atleast. I guess I just really would've liked to see a Utah vs Auburn matchup.

flawed.

I remember we had given telephone interviewees a few other options as to how the games should be held. Due to legal issues, i can't really say until the survey is out to the public. :hs:

Other options for the BCS: I'd like to hear about that. I don't think they should do a playoff system. It's the college football tradition for bowl games and that's alright. I think the BCS does a fair enough job at picking the top two teams in the country.

The problem is with the coaches poll. They need to make the coach's vote public, I think that's what screws everything up. Also they need to start the poll like in week four or something, there's no reason for a "preseason poll".

I have my bowl picks riding on OU

it feels dirty, but, BOOMER SOONER.

USC will lose because the Pac-10 is horrendously overrated, Cal was decimated by a middle of the pack big 12 team, while UCLA lost to wyoming, both these schools lost to USC by less than 1 touchdown.

Leninart didn't deserve his Heisman either, east coast/west coast bias.

Fuck tradition, there has never been a real national champion in College Football, only a mythical champion declared by a group of sportswriters, it's the only sport where the champion is not decided on the field.

the BCS has a history of not putting the best 2 teams against each other, FSU was in the title game over Miami, when Miami had beaten them earlier in the season. Next year, Nebraska played Miami even though they did not win their own conference. Last year, OU got to play, despite not winning their conference. This year, the undefeated champion of the best conference was left out, the system is flawed and the only solution is a playoff. Best of 8, that's 7 games(Rose, Fiesta, Sugar, Orange, Cotton, Gator, Capitol one) let the rest of em play in the old bowl games.

:eek3: Great post! I have to agree with you on all your points. You should be writing on ESPN. :2thumbs:

... another point to why there'll will probably never be a playoff system: the coaches and players don't want it. It means more games, more chances to get injured before some players enter the NFL draft (like Willis McGehee (sp?) in the Fiest Bowl against Ohio State). I know its a lame excuse but it's what I keep on hearing. Players don't really care that much about having a playoff system, etc. Having a playoff means having to play more games and mose players and coaches don't want that. :eh:

I say get rid of the cupcake games, does Texas really need to play UNT or Rice? Mack has been saying we need a playoff for years, but that's mack. People won't pay attention until Stoops or Carrol say anything, as they are the reigning coaching gods of CFB.

a playoff only adds at the absolute most 2 extra games, that's not so bad, and means more $$$$ for schools. They've been using some BS excuse that it will conflict with finals, the players aren't students, so it shouldn't matter.

That McGahee injury was the most disgusting act I've ever seen in my life, a leg should not bend like that.

For real, he's going to be like Eric Crouch or whoever that guy was that played for Nebraska. That guy is so old, Id rather draft the QBs from Utah or Cal or TexasTech than him. Jason White will be a nobody in the NFL, too bad he spent 6 years in college to win the Heisman and get his ass kicked TWICE.

not many, but this is only the 4th year under Playstation guru Mike Leach, Tech has yet to land a 5 star QB recruit who can start for 3-4 years, if they do, kiss all passing records goodbye.

Timmy Chang is good, Career Leader in Yards, TD's, and Int's. He throws a lot.

:smack: , thats only one record. Maybe you are not familiar with Texas Tech's offense where Red Raider qb's average between 400-500 yards passing a game; but none of them stay or start for a full 4 years. They usually leave early for the NFL.

but changs record puts him in a class by himself and might never be broken because guys do leave early for nfl, get injured, etc.

chang ownz them all. Look at what he did last year vs. UH. :kekegay:
I was joking about Chang, I know nothing of college football and could care less. There is nothing important about a bowl game or a college player's record in my eyes. The only football I pay any attention to is the NFL where you actually have a defined "best" team in a year. The entire process for bowl games is gay. Playoffs to an actual championship game is the way to go.
