ok..im tired of hearing the same sob story..well all he does is dunk..

BULLSHIT>

tito and defalcon both said this.

im a shaq fan so i watch just about everyone of his games thanks to league pass and have been since like 94.IM pretty sure ya ever really watch him play.

shaq doesnt just dunk..maybe in 94 -96 he did..but shit has changed..i can sit thru one whole game and see he gets maybe 3-5 dunks a game..thats fucking 10 points of dunks tops..i dont know if ya know but hes been averaging 21pts+ for his whole career.

Shaq gets the rest from short turn around jumpers he;s knockin down with ease..hooks..runnin hooks..HE DOESNT JUST DUNK.

"..its only cuz hes big!",...BULLSHIT..u have to have skill to know how to move with all that weight..u have to have skill to know how to use ur strengths..

j.white is as big as shaq..he sucks..pig miller..another miller..richard hamilton..robert traylor..these guys are big and can barely put up 4 pts 3 rebs a game....being big isnt it..ITS FUCKING TALENT AND SKILL.

Shaq is terrible just face it... he has no discernable skill other than being large, oh wait that's not a skill. No one has the shear size Shaq does, none of those guys you mentioned. He can not shoot whatsoever. Hell he can barely even hit half of this free throws... we're talking standing still, no one in his face, from 15 feet! These other "shots" you talk about, running hooks, SHORT turnaround jumpers (we're talking less than 5 feet here, I mean seriously...) ect are like throwing a tennis ball into a wastebasket for him. Add to the fact that he gets just about every call... Shaq bulls someone over and the foul is on THEM!?! Ridiculous! He's terrible... sorry bro...

I have to agree. Shaq is a talented player, especially with his weight being involved. what people do fail to see is that his dunking has gone down and that he making more shots in the paint vs. dunks. Most of his dunks come off rebounds and when he gets real deep in the paint. It's not his fault his strength is above and beyond most other centers that he could easily just drop in and dunk is it? If anybody really followed alot of his games, they would see that he gets most points in simple hooks and simple off the backboard type shots/layups. Plus, add in the freethrow points he gets, 53% of his freethrows go in and he gets roughly 12 attempts per game. 6 points from freethrows+maybe 8 points in dunks+another 12 or so points from hooks, layups, tip ins, etc.=to his career average of 26 points per game. Shaq doesn't just dunk, if he wanted to he could do it all day long, who could stop him? the stick figure Yao Ming? :kekegay: Don't get me wrong, I like the Rockets and Yao but nobody could stop Shaq from dunking the ball if he wanted to do it all day long. He just got bored and decided to improve in all other aspects of the game.

the guys he mentioned have the size of Shaq. Sure size is not a skill but being able to control his size and use it on the court against your opponents is a skill. Shaq can back down any of those other big guys mentioned and yet, still spin around some of the quickest centers in the league. Power and swift moves without losing your balance is skill my friend. But if you want to focus on free throw shooting as a joke, then Tim Duncan is joke right? He makes roughly around 65% of his free throws on an average day and by league standards, that is not good. Duncan averages around 2-3 blocks per game and Shaq averages around 2 per game. Shaq can spin around a defender almost as quick as Duncan but overpower them as well. Don't know how you can say Shaq is terrible unless you will claim Tim is terrible also?

Shaq just uses his size to push the guards and fowards around. There has been no man that is that size (not in height) to play the game.

Richard hamilton 20.5 points a game and against miami he averages 22 points.

Back to my point, Shaq can play, and yes it is amazing to see somebody of that size to move that quick but look at his faults. He averages 21.5 points (please note that that is only 1 point higher when you dissed hamilton). He hits a 45.9 FT average.

Shaq is good but overrated.

whats wrong with averaging 21.5 pts? it just shows that he doesnt have to average 30 pts a game to win and obviously miami is a winning team

overrated? show me any guy that could stop him and then tell me Shaq is overrated. If he can't be stopped, he is not overrated. Was the supposed greatest player Micheal Jordan overrated because he could get by defenders and shoot fade-away jumpers with a hand in his face or dunk on a center? Is Tim Duncan overrated because he could play the game with sweet soft touches off the backboard and spin around defenders quickly? Lebron James? Carmelo Anthony? I hate to say it, but is Kobe Bryant overrated because he can play the game and make such difficult shots look easy?
the short answer is no. They all have their style, be it speed, finesse(sp?), hangtime, brute power, etc. All players have their style and Shaq uses hi to almost all of it's potential. I am not a big fan of Shaq but I do believe that he is the most dominant player in the league. The only way he can be stopped is by injuring him or him getting himself hurt by doing something stupid off the court.
He is only averaging 21.5 because there are other people who can score. But if you look carefully, that was only the last 2 seasons, he was scoring well over 26 points per game before that. Career average is around 26 I think, 10 rebounds a game, 3 assists, 2 blocks per game=pretty damn good center that lives up to the hype, not overrated.

Shaq has definately lost a step. He's not as good as he used to be, but I think he's still a good player. He though should really really work on his rebounds. He's just avg just about 10 a game, for a man his size that dude should get 15 boards a game. He's just lazy at times. I also think that if shaq had worked on his freethrows and outside shooting he would have been the very best in the game. I guess you can't have it all :(

You're right, I should clarify. He scores most of his points in the paint. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say that he doesn't score outside of the paint, or even try for that matter. What's keeping him from dunking is the defense, that's all. He goes straight to the basket each and every opportunity he gets.

Be aware of Miami's current standing, as they are in the runnings for home-court advantage in the playoffs, as well as a good chance at an Eastern Conf. title.

get ur players straight....rip hamilton is 6-7 guard, not an ogre...

if i waqnted to say rip hamilton i would have...i mean '2 sandwhiches" hamilton..used to play for the Rockets..that hamilton who weighed damn near 380lbs..that hamilton..i know my players..u should know get urs straight and new i wasnt talkin about rip hamilton who is not even close to shaqs size for me to have been comparing size.. :wompwomp:

And no other player can change the game plan offensively and defensively like SHaq does..Teams dont attack the goal with him in the paint..teams hace to send double even triple teams to slow shaq down..slow..not stop..if he didnt have the skill, they wouldnt do that..and if he cant he just flips a no look behind the head pass.....no skills yet? ya just hating on the manchild!

if u know that was a strength in ur game, wouldnt u use i mcfly?

its like having MIchael jordan post up centers instead of takin nothing but jumpers..why not ? cuz his strength is shooting jumpers.
