I paid $1500 to get some shit done on my 2001 toyota tacoma, and i got fucked. going back tomarrow to see if we can settle this.

Basically I'm asking for anyone's help on this subject. I need someone who can install two 12 inch subs in the bed of my truck, and have the bass come into the cabin. It has to be aesthetically pleasing, as well and sound good.

And on the same subject, it MUST be waterproof. My bed cover sucks right now (until i get my snug top), so it must be able to withstand the weather. Also please keep in mine that I will only have $1500 to work with.

Oh, and the 12's will run off of a RF Power bd 1000a1 amp. I listen to all kinds of music. Anyone got any suggestions?

where did you get this done at?...

get the snug top now and worry about the subz later...it would cost you more to make it waterproof...fiberglass'n the outside of the box that is...

do you already have the boot that goes in the hole where the bass comes through?

The idea was to build a enclosure that would be waterproof, even if I didn't have the top over it. That would give me time to save up for the Snug Top, and also ensure that the subs would never be subjected to moisture. That never happend.

Also, the boot was supposed to be loarge acrylic tubes that would allow the bass to come from the bed into the cabin. Instead I got bullshit MDF wood squares that extend from the bed to the cabin. They aren't even protected agianst the weather. Im sure you can imagine what happens to MDF when it gets wet.

who did this work???

and the boot shouldn't be styleish...it needs to be a rubber grommit that goes around a single hole....cut into the truck and the bed...that is the only way todo it right...

and another thing you could do is to build the box in the bed...attack it to the bed and put in a spray on bed liner

as far as the name, I won't say just yet because my truck is there now. I want my money back. Hopefully it'll work out that way.

Now as far as the "single hole", I am assuming this hole is supposed to be much bigger than a 4inch by 4 inch square.

yes...the ones I have seen are about 9" by about 2' ...it depends on how your box is set up....if these are the ports...then that is what you would need....but then you waste all the bass that is come'n from the air movement from the front of the woofer...

should'a done 4 8's behind your rear seat. they would fit... go with 2 alpine type r woofers... they jam in a sealed box, and 1000 rms is great power for them.

Do you have pictures of this? Right now I'm leaning towards Tweeter as far as redoing the subwoofer enclosure. It looks like im stuck with the equipment I have.

as far as the 8's are concerned, i don't have any pics. nothing too special. just looks like a basic truck style wedge eclosure built to spec outta 3/4" mdf. sounds great. should hit in the mid 130s if powered properly. we haven't done a cutout in that truck yet...
