Pedro has two years as a starter left in him at most. I think he'll end up being washed up in a few years, that's why they didn't want to give him the fourth year and really didn't want to give him three.

There was also no chance in hell that boston could have kept their lineup with something like 65% of their entire team unrestricted free agents this off season with everyones price going up.
