Alright for you guys who are into systems and know about this kind of stuff let me know what kind of subs amps etc you would go for if you wanted spl. Then say what you would go with if you wanted sq. Then what would you guys do if you wanted a mixture of both.

Also if I wanted my JL w6v2's to have clean quality bass and hit hard what kind of box would you go with...sealed...ported...or bandpass. Let me know.

i dunno, i'm kinda partial to sealed enclosures myself... however, i've seen ported enclosues that have hit for accuracy. what kind of music do you listen to, and what kinda money are you looking to put into amps? how many woofers do you have?

i would prefer sealed over ported almost any day. but if i was you i would get the w3's, muuuch better all around sub than the w6 IMO.

Pure SQ: image dynamics IDQ's, or MAXes if you have the cash, W7's, Adire Brahma, Arc Audio subs (same as the IDQ's, but less common), maybe if you really wanna be different some Focal subs, in a sealed box for sure.

Pure SPL: Solobaric, digital designs 95 series (don't know much for SPL as I don't follow it as well, so this selection is limited) in a ported box.

SQ/SPL mix: ID MAX, W7, in a sealed box.

All of the above on their RMS rated power, or maybe ~300 watts over it.

Bandpass boxes IMO are unbearable, just sound awful. A well built ported box can sound just as good or better than a SEMI-well built sealed box, for the mix I wouldn't rule out the ported box, but those particular subs would get plenty loud in a good sealed box.

For SQ amps, the PPI PC series (not the newer PCX series, the slightly older ones), Arc Audio, the newer Clarion amps,

SPL amps: I'd strongly consider the older RF line, the black and silver ones, not the turd shaped ones but rather the more squared spiky ones. Some beefy amps they were..

if you're looking for loud bass, but want great sound quality (one of the best), try RMScaraudio. its on the pricier side, but u won't believe it until you hear it. nice flat response from 30hz all the way up to about 110hz. not to mention its a bandpass setup. SQ, but with a lot of SPL. 2 10's with 380 watts each did a 146db i

n an RSX. not to mention each sub's thermal power rating is 1000 watts RMS.

the PowerMouse setup has a built in amprack, which might be convenient for your. if not, the regular Mouse setup will do.

price? 2 10's (with box) for $700 +shipping.

but of course you might be on a budget, then i'd look for something else.:)
