I just wanted some people opinions on this subject. some people i know say they drift their cars, including myself. all of which are front wheel drivers. The basic question is would it be considered drifting if a person pulls the e-brake and slides out of control or "drifts," around a corner. i would say it is. i say i can start a drift but unable to maintain it. let me know what yall think.

if it were anyone else, I'd kindly refer them to the NUMEROUS links on this subject. But since it's you Chris, I'll be more direct :thumb:

YOU CAN'T DRIFT A FWD CAR

you can slide them around corners, but that's all. And damn fool when you coming down again?

i dont know... pretty much whenever im not working. and no community service. im pretty sure it will be after thanksgiving. perhapse around christmas time. i think today i wil request off for the entire christmas break. so i can secure my place. and yes i can drift. ask blake and the other people i have taken "drifting." blake has been talking to people at school in my absence and he tells peopel that i am the legend. because i drove a car to the point that it exploded.

What happened to the other post about FWD drifting :duh:

U can not drift a FWD
No matter how many video clips you see

To determine the difficulty level of FWD drifting you must follow this equation:

We'll call FWD drifting f (x) and the answer will be calculated as X.

Now since you have two wheels supplying the power to the ground we'll say that that X is squared.

thus f (x) = X^2

Now take this function and divide it by the percentage probability of a successful FWD drift.

now we have f (x) = X^2 / 0

to determine difficulty find the derivative of f(x) which is f'(x)

finally we have f'(x) = 2X / 0 which is undefined, because you can not divide by zero.

There. The difficulty level is undefined since FWD drifting is not possible (IMO).

(in summary, buy a RWD and don't stay up too late doing your calculus homework, because it has serious side effects )

well just use sickboy's post as an answer everytime this comes up

Here, let me sum up this thread so we don't have to go through this again:

I can drift a FWD

No you can't.

Yes, I can, ask my friend. AND I saw this civic do it on a video

:kekegay: :kekegay:

No you can't, and the car in the video sucked.

Seriously - I can.

No you can't. Come to an event and prove it. Try it in a tandem run, try a radius, try doing transitions

You guys are close minded.. Sliding/ebraking your car is drifting

Come to an event. Everyone is now dumber and gayer :kekegay: :kekegay: for having to read another thread like this.
End of thread.

There, its over. No math formulas, not worth the drawn out speeches. Just bring it to an event and prove it.

this part makes me laugh :kekegay: :roflmao:

but yea last time i went to a grind event there was a hatchback and an integra there and they were just loud and annyoing they would usually crap out at the apex of the turn.

YOU CAN'T DRIFT A FWD CAR

can you tell the sponsored FALKEN exibitino driver that? thank you.

1st guy said
is sliding around a corner OUT of control drifting? because i can do that
no, and that is not drifting.
a major part of drifting and waht separates the l337 from the regular is control. if your not in control your just sliding and lucky. whenyour drifting you are in control

i honestly canot say i have seen anyone in texas that posts on these boards talking about fwd drifting that can do it. nor have i seen them at events.

if you have to ask someone, your nto doing it.

why FWD's will never be able to REALLY Drift:

i'd love to see a fwd drifter keep up with a rwd drifter through a 100mph sweeper where you have to keep the car sideways while still maintaining that 100mph (or close to it) that is so common on D1 and other professional drift circuits. it's just not possible. a fwd cannot maintain it's speed while drifting. if it does, it will break it's drift. it's simple physics. you cannot a force fwd's rear tires to push the car around a turn (a necessity for "true" drifting). while drifting a fwd you are limited to the momentum you had when you entered the turn. you cannot gain momentum to finish the turn like you can with a rwd drifter. it's just not possible. that is why to ME you cannot properly "drift" a fwd car.

Not this bullshit again....Mang i rest my case...i aint going to defend nobody wether it a fuxing FWD,AWD,or RWD. :gross:

pertaining to what secret agent said... the way i look at it, i can start a drift but i cant maintain a drift. that is all. no need to milk it dry.

sorry chris. thats not driftin. its power slidin. wut u need are macdonald's trays. then u will b driftin. or being stupid. either way its funny.

TIREKILLER
11-11-2004, 06:06 PM
Its not power sliding either cuz your not using power to keep the wheels spining. Its ASS DRAGING! Or you could call it what it really is OVERSTEER.

you FWD cars can keep trying drifting, we'll keep falling asleep during your runs waiting for the real cars to run.

:roflmao: its a physical impossibility to drift a fwd car. that is, unless you have macdonalds trays, and then its just redneck fun. :yeahno:

Hey guys, today I went out and drifted in my FWD. You CAN fucking drift in a FWD, the ONLY reason you guys say "No you can't" is because you are pissed off that it is not only for RWD. Booo freakin hoo. Grow up you guys, realize the fact that YOU CAN FUCKING DRIFT A FWD!!!!!!!1111 The only thing is you can't continue the drift as long as a RWD. END OF THREAD
