Why do you want a radar when I already have the Valentine?

ya...id say the 8500 is really good...its 100 bux less then the v1...only thing the v1 has over it really is the arrows which point where the cops is:thumb:

Not to mention, a multiple target counter and it beeps each time you pick up a new target when muted. A feature that's can't be ignored on the V1. I would say V1 over the 8500.. Not to mention upgradabilities. You can send yours in for an upgrade and get it back with a 1 year warranty for a fee. That versus buying a new detector every time something new come out..

IMO, escort is the BEST radar dectector available.

Valentine radar dectectors are known for there super "LASER" detection capabilities. And they cost $400. As far as radar, Escort is better then Valentine. I should know. I've had about 5 different radar dectectors. IMO, best to worse..........

1) ESCORT

2) BEL

3) Valentine

i own a 8500 and i love it. it picks cops up fro, a very good distance and when new radars come out you can download them onto your 8500. they are suppose to be comming out with a new digital KA band with a lower frequency. maybe they already did, im not sure

I have the Passport 8500. Works like a charm! I'd recommend you get this radar. Costs an arm and a leg, but it's worth it in the long run.

260 after taxes or shipped is good. it retails for 300. and i got mine for 250 before taxes so 260 is a great deal for a new one.

I got a Bel 985 for X-Mas. It work really good. Saved me 3 times so far. Also, the number of false alarms is very low.

No, $399 on a V1 is an arm and a leg.. Not to mention you can only buy one new from it's website..
