Ummh, I think most domestics are Fugly (mustang has been fugly since '70~'04), but the new mustang makes me think a blown V8 could be in my future. :thumb: Nice to see them stepping up to the plate, the solid axle could be a blessing (??), but maybe not for those wanting to circuit race. Wonder if some Cobra rear end fits?

Eh, it's sad to see him change cars. I liked his s13. Well, now that professional drivers are moving to different cars, we might be able to find 240s a little easier. As in, hopefully the band wagoneers will follow suit.

laugh all you want, the definitive drift car, the ae86 corolla, also used a live rear axle.
Domestics are born drift machines. take a look at the power curve on a mustang sometime. The new one comes with a drastically improved suspension, too.
If I was buying a new car and couldn't afford the Z I'd be getting a GT for sure.

you'd think thread marks on the top of would be a bad thing. I mean it gives me the idea that ford will be mowed down by others but who cares as long as it's turbo or supercharged. :thumb:

I'd take that mustang over any 240... they are new, they look awesome, and they have a decent motor, all from the factory. When the cobra comes out in a few years it will probably have 400 hp and IRS, and mounting points designed for proper geometry.
I love my 240 but the new mustangs are really awesome.
And as for "if someone paid you to drive it.."
I would drive any car on any track and you would not have to pay me. I'll autocross a fucking Metro if you give me the keys.

I like the mustang. It has the craziness of a drift car in it -- they're racecars, not supposed to look nice in a subtle sense; they're supposed to be balls-out and crazy. Go ford! Next year should be a good one.
although i do wish it was NA.

For 100,000 Gs? Damn. That's crazy... I'd need at least 10 times that to do it naked... I'd run around and skid around the track though like I was drifting... :)

the new mustang is different completely, sn95 and the new dew based one are pretty different (not crazy but they are not the same). im sure if you figured out a way to mount the subframe you could. but the real questino is why waste your time on a drift car makign it irs. solid is fine for drifting. the new cobra will have irs, im also not sure but you might, might be able to get the new irs for the new platform from a ford catalog sooner than the cobra.
