can you use a car that isnt street leagle.
heres the situation
my friend may let me borrow his piece of crap the expection sticker is expired and the plates havent been changed. I also wouldnt be insured for the car (i do have insurance)but if i hit anything I wouldnt care about the car being damaged. Would I be able to tow the car up there and drive it in the grind event? oh and the car is over 25 years old.

nobody has given u an answer so here goes.
you can take your car but itll have to pass the techs first. theyll look it over and make sure everything seems to be in good shape and give you your sticker. make sure your battery is tied down.

yes you can use a non street legal car for Grind101
you can trailer it there :thumb: or drive it there without getting catch :ugh2:
best bet is to trailer it there if its not street legal
It has to pass tech...
Meaning
1. Battery MUST be Tied down
2. no loose or flying objects in the car
3. has to have ALL your lug nuts
4. lugnuts that will threat 6 times around the lug
5. cant be leaking any fluids
6. Working Brakes
7. has to have Seatbelts
8. Throttle Body return
make sure u know what your drifting..
basicly use common sense
not like drift a truck and have it tip over cuz of the height or massive amount of body roll
AND DONT FORGET YOUR HELMET!

I believe usual drift tech is like no holes in windshield, wheels have to pass the "grab and shake" test, your brakes have to be in good shape, everything must be secured or removed inside the vehicle, seat belts have to be in good working condition, etc.
cars don't usually have to be street legal, but you'd have to read the rules to be sure if your car passes their set of criteria.

Yea that's cool. Listen to the post about the safety tech. we check all that.
Make sure to bring a helmet and that your seat belts work. We'll double check that on the conv. Brakes are very inportant. Try at least making sure the pads are good and you have new brake fluid.

why are convertables iffy? theres no way it will flip it tops out at like 65 and take about 5 minets to get there. Where can i get a helmet quick? can i wear a motocross helmet?

most drift events I've been to require a good aftermarket weld in roll bar if you have a convertible. Stock is almost NEVER good enough.
