Lack of support. Not enough people showing up to the events. I hope people interested in drifting really go. If not it'll end up being as expensive as California which is $100 per driver ( and they get full within a weeks of posting).

Well i have bitten my toung as long as i can! Alex or John PLEASE tell these kids what it costs you out of your own pocket to hold one of these events! I would do it but i dont want to offend Alex if he doesnt want to tell everybody. But suffice it to say that Alex DOES NOT make any money on the Grind events. Infact with the turnouts we have had at the last few events im almost positive that He lost money! If you poeple want to complain about entry fees maybe the hardcore dedicated drifters who spend all they have to spend on this sport ( financially and timewise) should pool our money and only have private drift sessions with participants being on an invitation only basis. Then we will charge yall to watch and maybe we can actually go out after the event and afford to buy ourselves a nice dinner.
To sum it up. Quit crying about entry fees. Do some research and you will see that we have it pretty good down here compared to the rest of the country. Im glad we arent paying $100 entry fee and you should be too. So come support your local drifting assosciation and ensure that you have a safe legal place to drift for at least the next few years.

these grind events are expensive!
dont bitch about the cost being too high
your if your too go to come out n slidearound
if your like that go sign up for Formula D and see what happens
as for me im still learning and ill take my sweet time attending EVERY daily drifter event being held
50$ IS CHEAP!
if your too worried about payin 50$ at one time
look at it this way
your payin for college
your payin for insurance
your payin for upgrades
why not pay for the Drifting?
it would cost u less then one new tire
and improves ur drivin skills
so WHY NOT GO?!
give me a reason
initial what?

I won't get into details on how much I've lost but believe me it's in the thousands. I love drifting and I love to practice so I pay a way bigger penalty than $50 an event. I'm lucky I have a decent paying job that lets me keep doing this. But things will change next year. I hope for the better, but the community decides that.
Everyone waits untill the last minute to register. So i have to go into my account my account, pay for the events up front and hope my losses aren't too big.
Sad thing is without a place to practice we won't be good enough to ever compete against Cali and the east coast folks. Look at any of the FormulaD drivers from Texas. All of them go to practice drift sessions.
Casey it might come down to wht you said about collecting funds and charging. I thought about that already. We'll see how it goes with the big event.

Grind101 - $50 - Standard event and competition
Grind101 Pro - $100 - Same as above but no waiting in line. Make your run and pull in front of line. For Drivers that need more track time.
Grind101 Clinic - $100 - Same as above with an instructor and no waiting in lines. You come back to the front after your run.
Clinic and Pro have no run group. They run when ever and have no limit on the track. Limit 10 drivers total for the event.
i got that from trapspeed?!??! so if im payin standard? does that means im goin with the sticker rule again?

"your if your too go to come out n slidearound"
quote from project s15, not sure what he was saying, but I believe its one of the most confusing sentences I have ever read, in my entire life, including all the instruction manuals I have received in english from taiwan and china.
lol anyway I'm from the northeast, 50 is about average for a parking lot drift event. If only I had my s13 down here I'd go.
